I like foliage as much as the next guy, but what’s the logic of making this more of a choke point?
While I agree that this is basically a return to the building’s past, I’d argue it’s better than what was replaced because of the condition it was in at the end. Like many Disney attractions, it was largely neglected and a shell of its former self. It was an easy target when Disney needed a temporary home for Star Wars leading up to Galaxy’s Edge and most weren’t too upset about it.I’ll ask a question I’ve asked before - how is this “refresh” making the area better then it was a decade ago, when it was such a wasteland Animation was replaced by Launch Bay?
The big changes are an AA replacing a live cast member in the animation show and a children’s playground replacing some indoor interactive exhibits. What’s the big upgrade?
I think the point is to make everything a bit more visible and naturally circulatory? Like, before, you couldn't see well what you were getting into beyond the arch and then kind of ended up in a desolate dead-end plaza. Now, there's a kind of natural moving triangle from Mermaid to Animation to Disney Junior that moves you around the area, plus it's easier to see what's on offer before bothering to enter.I like foliage as much as the next guy, but what’s the logic of making this more of a choke point?
Never mind the fact that the Sequel Trilogy which it was designed to promote had literally concluded at least five years earlier. While I agree that this is basically a return to the building’s past, I’d argue it’s better than what was replaced because of the condition it was in at the end. I think the 35 year old stage shows is really showing it's age. I'd like to see something new (or at least an upgrade).
With the recent Indy effect cuts and Indiana Jones Animal Kingdom Adventure coming in a year, it feels like that might be the next domino in that park anyway.
I agree but I am still baffled by the fact that they are suddenly leaning back into the studio concept after they spent the last decade supposedly trying to erase it.I'm glad they are making the area more aesthetically pleasing. They could do the same with the center area in front of the theatre because that area basically all concrete as well.
it’s actually a logical question - that area isn’t particularly large and has usually been full of stroller parking.Of course, this is essentially a non issue because this area acts as an area that most people will not congregate in but if we used logic we wouldn't have as much to complain about
I don’t think what he’s asking is an unfair question. You likely have seem how much I’m against how some posters here act, how often I disagree with Casper in particular (we’ve fought and argued countless times), and how big I am on this project in particular, but I also am a little confused what they’re doing with the foliage and such as well. He and many other posters can be pedantic and complain about nothing often, but this is a fair question to ask. It’s hard to conceptualize to even me at this stage what they’re aiming for with navigating this space.- Disney fans: DHS is a concrete jungle
- Disney: *adds in some much needed plant life because DHS can indeed be way too much of a concrete jungle in the beginning.*
- Disney fans: But... but... now it won't fit the same amount of people! The masses will stampede and crush each over because they cannot understand going around a few trees.

I will say, the current area for Mermaid guests to exit is quite narrow and there have been no trampling deaths. So I presume the full plaza will accommodate the additional attractions’ guest flow. They can control end times for the two shows.I don’t think what he’s asking is an unfair question. I also caution you from engaging in the same sort of behavior that you, myself, and many others get agitated by. This is kind of a mean spirited post.
Well… it was once used when people had a reason to queue. I know you’re aware of that, I just wanted to point it out for my own amusement.Animation had an enormous, unused queue.
I remember waiting in line in the ‘90s! Never this millennium, of course.Well… it was once used when people had a reason to queue. I know you’re aware of that, I just wanted to point it out for my own amusement.
I used to absolutely love DHS - it’s such a weird park now. This is a step in the right direction though.
