DHS Disney Confirms Muppets Take Over Rock 'n' Roller Coaster at Hollywood Studios

Scooter’s uncle has always been a pretty hands-off landlord (unless the story dictates otherwise). I think it’s reasonable to assume that he bought G-Force as it was when they managed Aerosmith and then left it alone while his nephew’s weird friends moved in and repainted the big guitar.
Your justification just contradicted what you were trying to defend. The Muppets moved in and repainting the car means it wasn’t professionally done as part of a well managing branding effort from the top.

In story, I don’t think it is supposed to be a well-managed branding effort from the top. It’s the Muppets. They’ve never been “professional” or “well managed.” They’re chaotic.

Personally, while I acknowledge that a true Muppets vehicle would be more spray paint than fine finish, the technical incongruity doesn’t bother me much here for a few reasons.

First, while the interior story of G-Force is now that Grosse owns it, the art deco surroundings still have to be taken into consideration. This isn’t a dedicated Muppets land; it’s a Muppets ride that exists within Sunset to a certain extent. Same idea behind the clock tower outside DL Peter Pan being more Bavarian than Big Ben, for instance.

Second, I feel like there should be a connection between the finish of the car and the finish of the guitar since they’re supposed to visually read as part of the same “prop”.

Third, even if you put all that aside and insist that it has to be in-universe to the same degree one would expect of a themed land, it’s kind of open-ended as to whether it’s supposed to be a genuine Muppets vehicle, part of the decor of G-Force, or some sort of re-purposed prop from their album cover.

This is all fine and logical, but the end result is that absolutely nothing here reads as “Muppet-y,” which indicates just how slapdash the overlay is.

Why? I’ve ridden it as well and thought it was well done. I even thought the use of screens seemed less obviously screens vs. guardians
I just found the story pretty incomprehensible. I don’t remember there being a good explanation as to what the threat was or why we were needed to help. The screens also felt pretty haphazardly placed. It was clear to me that this ride was not intended to have screens or a story.

Agreed, but again, when you have a single ride in a larger themed land, I’d argue that’s how it’s supposed to be from the outside, or at least that’s how it was traditionally until the likes of New Fantasyland and its kin arose. Aside from contained signage, Peter Pan’s Flight does not read as architecturally “of” the IP.

Oh ok… I feel the same way about guardians tower at DCA though? Like I’m not sure where the standard is for Disney marvel rides.

I guess I kind of understand the story for guardians at Epcot…. Barely?

Does tron have a story?

No
Once Villains land opens, do we think they'll replace Villains with a muppets show and turn this into a (fairly small) new muppets-land? Perhaps around the same time we get a successful new Muppets movie, show or series of specials too.

It would make sense to have the show and ride share a theme and I assume the villains show won't survive past the land opening in MK. Of course, if they fail to revive the muppets again, perhaps not.

I don’t really consider RnRC to be “in” Sunset at all, it doesn’t really fit - RnRC is off in its own little sub land which should make it very easy to Muppetfy.
