Disney Files Plans for Magic Kingdom Ferry Boat Queue Expansion at Seven Seas Lagoon
Disney Files Plans for Magic Kingdom Ferry Boat Queue Expansion at Seven Seas Lagoon
Come again? Attendance at MK has been nearly flat since 2022. 17.1 million vs 17.8 million. 1650 people per day on average.I wonder if Disney will ever put a 4th form of transportation between the TTC and MK.
The park just keeps growing in popularity and they are expanding it a lot in the next few years.
As much as I’d love for that to happen, it’s not. Would have to be entirely rebuilt from the ground up.I can think of another ferry to add to the fleet of ferry boats. (Yes, I understand the current ferries are built to have front and rear immediate access to the docks.) It's a thought, right?

I think this is more about increasing the queue area for the ferry for park dump.Could this be related to ferryboat transportation to/from lakeshore lodge?
No, wrong boat type. This is just for the Ferryboat that goes to the TTC. The resort boats are located in a different dock area.Could this be related to ferryboat transportation to/from lakeshore lodge?
I am not sure I understand your math. 17.8 million people in a year averages out to 48,767 people going to MK each day (which sounds kind of high to me). Or are you talking about an average increase of the number of vistors per day?Come again? 17800000-17100000=700000 new peopleI am not sure I understand your math. 17.8 million people in a year averages out to 48,767 people going to MK each day (which sounds kind of high to me). Or are you talking about an average increase of the number of vistors per day?
OK, that I understand. That is still a lot of new people visting the MK each day.17800000-17100000=700000 new people
700000/365= 1918 people on average per day... so I'm not sure how he got his 1650 number.
Probably did 17.7mil vs 17.1 mil (2023 vs 2022) but didn't correct my averaging math.17800000-17100000=700000 new people

Magic kingdom averages a hell of a lot more people than 28,000/day.OK, that I understand. That is still a lot of new people visting the MK each day.
From what I understand, the MK averages about 28000 (+/-) visitors per day.
When you take into account that at least 1/2 of that is coming into the park at opening, and 3/4 of that is leaving after fireworks. It puts a huge strain on the boats and monorails. The ferryboat dock has not changed other than adding a second docking slip since the park opened back in 1971, but yet the park has expanded since then, and so have the number of resorts in the area. With that said, I think that widening the ferry boat queue area is the minimum they should be doing.
average is ~48,800... I would imagine spring break and Christmas/new years week are significantly above that. I feel like I heard years ago that the "capacity" of the park was 100,000 but I have no idea where I heard that or if it's even close to true.Magic kingdom averages a hell of a lot more people than 28,000/day.
I don’t think Epcot even gets all the way to 100k. But those higher numbers were before reservations - I don’t think they ever get that high anymore.I feel like I heard years ago that the "capacity" of the park was 100,000 but I have no idea where I heard that or if it's even close to true.
To be fair... you can now walk from the TTC>Poly>MKUntil there are enough ferries that they can be lashed together as a floating pontoon such that one can just walk across the lake, I won't consider it 'enough ferries.'
Why can't they put a line of pylons across the water and run a train back and forth? Maybe only one rail so a "monorail"?Until there are enough ferries that they can be lashed together as a floating pontoon such that one can just walk across the lake, I won't consider it 'enough ferries.'
