Haven't been to DCA in years, but it looks like that will change. Our daughter and son in law invited us to join them for a trip to DLR in the summer.
I really like parts of its past, present and future. But IMHO, it has remained a second rate theme park at every stage so far.I love California Adventure past, present, and future, and I'm not afraid to say it!
The best part of Superstar Limo has been lost to the decades, but I think it was those CM uniforms they wore. You can just sort of barely see it in this pic.
Black slacks, and bright purple jackets with chrome (yes, chrome) epaulets and buttons all over. And a bright purple and tightly starched Captain's hat with a glossy black leather headband and a shiny chrome (yes, chrome) visor glinting in the sun.
Those CM's looked, for all the world, like valet parking attendants at a swanky West Hollywood gay bar.
It was one of the almost unknown pieces of charm in all of DCA 1.0. And it only lasted about 10 months before it closed.![]()
I'm not sure what the "best part" was.
For me, the defining moment was the photo at the end, inevitably showing the bewildered "what just happened?" faces on all the riders. Chef's kiss.

New DCA perimeter fence has the covers mostly up now. Can see through the old perimeter fence along backstage road (parade road) and the new construction fence on other side of it, which gives us a sense of the work area…
This is this area, about 92k sqft right now, more to be included as soon as the buildings start getting demo'd -How big is that?
Yes, that's possible. The building probably can't encroach into the 125x125' required landscape triangle at street corners (as far as we know from Anaheim plan publicly available).I was looking at FreshBaked's recent video, based on the current demo area, how the construction fence is basically in middle of current service/parade road ...

Could they be preserving that road, so as to not need to put one along the new fence line, maintain parade access, and the show building is something more like this?

If the queue is outdoors it could put guests quite close to traffic noises.
And this would seem different that the concept art, which didn't show a parade gate between the coaster and attraction.
But it's certainly possible and would seem to offer some efficiencies, including ability to keep the parade building.

This is what I originally said a few weeks ago but I was outvoted.
Based just on the vague concept art, I'm expecting something like Indy, with a queue that's both outdoors and indoors.
Let’s form the road is staying as is contingent.
Yeah it could still go either way but when I saw the gate on DL drive being closed I immediately just felt like that was where the building was going to go. As butted up against DL drive as possible. Using the existing road (with whatever slight modifications are necessary) makes more sense to me than constructing a new road. Especially if it’s true that the it’s only the building in the corner that’s going away.
And you know I nailed the haunted mansion queue space long before we really had a sense of what was happening. So I say we are on the right track here, but you get credit for breaking the story first.
