Last week was my first trip to MK since the island was removed. I was a little surprised at how much space there is for the cars land. They have a lot of space to work with which in my mind doesn’t mean they need to shoehorn anything.

It will be interesting to watch the next 2 months how much work is completed around big thunder prior to its opening. Some of the views from the ride will be shocking seeing 10 flat barren acres of land.

Also, spending an afternoon at wilderness lodge reminded me how much Disney can do to make artificial streams/rivers/waterfalls look like they have always been there. Now I understand this will have a cars/cartoon-y twist being piston peak, but if those can be subtle enough from the frontier land views and more prominent from within the land itself, I think it can be a big win. I do hope the waterfall is as impressive as it can be. It’s always so nice walking around WL hearing the water move throughout the property.

See what happens when the no off topic rule is followed. The thread dies! Probably OK though since there doesn't seem to be much in the line of construction information available.
I'm all for a certain degree of off topic discussion.
It's the nature of conversation.
Tangents occur, and often we find ourselves pretty far off from the original source.
But then someone, or something - like new information - steers the course back on track.
I enjoy the journey.

I don’t think Villians has been finalized yet.

Not even totally sure piston peak is! But I would expect a ride system and more art for the “e”
As for Villains, that may be, but I'm of the belief that the land itself is planned. I don't actually believe the rumor that the coaster is changing to a different theme. Maybe the dark ride, but the fact that they are already building the foundations of these places tells me that there's only so much that could possibly be in flux, at this point. Even if they did call an audible, the time for the planning phase has got to be at a close well before August! You can't just start building things without a great deal of architectural planning, and although Villains might open later than Piston Peak, it's looking like construction will happen concurrently. I'm thinking that their openings might even be as short as 6 months apart, the way that they have planned construction and filed the permits together.

Construction seems to be moving pretty quickly in this area, so I'm sure it won't be long before there's actual stuff to talk about. There's also eventually bound to be some leaks.

I really hope that they finally show off models of both of these lands at D23, or if we're really lucky, maybe one giant one, with everything connected! Will D'Amaro be so bold? I hope so.
Me too.
