I never heard of anyone call parking lush before
Check out the Polynesian Village, it's like a desert by comparison, perhaps that's why.

You know how some parking lots just have a lot of vegetation and others just are totally flat?

AKL just looks nice, and it was noticeable.

Out first visit was Coronado “pre tower” liked it a lot - but had dinner reservations at Boma and really feel head over wallet for AKL.

12 years later - we are DVC and prefer not staying anywhere else than “home” AKL.

I agree that it is a beautiful resort with lots of plusses. One major problem is the transportation to the parks and DS. It's at times a lengthy wait for bus arrivals and a long route to anywhere. We got stuck there waiting on a bus when we had an ADR and was in danger of missing our check in time despite being at the bus stop well in advance. We had to call an Uber to be saved.
And most guests will never be able to afford a stay there due to the high cost.
I think you got unlucky. I personally think due to the size of the resort and it only having buses it has a very reliable and frequent bus service. I think the official line is every 20 minutes and I don't think I've ever waited longer than that this side of COVID.

Or maybe it was the times of year running them late. It wasnt the only time its happened to me at AK, but the only time it threatened my dinner reservation.
