DHS Monster Inc Land Coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios

In most of the land in WDW has a very high water table so going down just a few feet can be problematic. Remember Magic Kingdom is on the second floor. When things like Tron, a coaster that requires more height then the original parks dealt with, what does everyone expect is going to happen.
Alien Swirling Saucers and Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run both have basements. TRON was built closer to the utilidor level and has a small basement.

So they did what they could with Tron and it still couldn't really impact it is what I'm hearing. Because that's what it sounds like. They tried to do what they could (save for theming the outside which I agree they should have done)

That’s a lot of extrapolation based on nothing. They did what they did because they had a directive to do the absolute minimum, necessary changes from what was designed for Shanghai Disneyland.

And in the old days they actually cared about making attractions that were shared between parks to be distinct enough from each other rather than outright clones like they seem to be doing now.

Not now.

None of the domestic park attractions being built are clones.
Good point.

Outside of the Western River Expedition being scrapped for a Pirates clone, Snow White was going to be Sleeping Beauty, Peter Pan was going to be Mary Poppins, Mr Toad was going to be Sword in the Stone.

Many of you would be a whole less upset with modern Disney if you knew more of past Disney.

Not only do I think they're moving away from pure 1 to 1 clones, they've also not really done that a lot anyway, so I'm not sure why anyone is acting as if it's been their way of doing things for awhile. Galaxy's Edge, Runaway Railway (not the queues), and Tron are the only one to one clones that they've done.

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway isn’t a lift. Ratatouille is a lift. This does just completely gloss over how Galaxy’s Edge’s “design once, build twice” was supposed to be a model for the future.

While I do absolutely love and prefer no clones... man that Coco attraction DCA is getting has me jealous
Its only fair that since they got a expanded version of Runaway Railway that we get a expanded version of Coco.

Now THAT would be great!

Got the perfect spot for it because we unfortunately got a half plot taken up by a meet and greet (I get why but come on, we can have the ride extend out to here though especially with a little road rerouting

I've always thought that plot would be a good choice for Coco as well, that way Three Caballeros can continue to live on.

biggest issue w disney rn is lack of smaller rides that are not spinners. these rides are needed and need to be built again. But when it comes to monsters im fine with it being a big show building, plus at least this one is themed unlike GOTG or back of tron
Big show buildings that are seamless are fine and have been around for a long time. But so have visible never themed attractions like Test Track. Just a big, black, Circular Building. The only theming was the attraction sign. I know it has been said but as far as I am concerned it doesn't represent a tire, never has, at least in an obvious way. Much Ado about Nothing.

None of the EPCOT buildings were themed (nor were they supposed to be); they were just interesting architecture. They weren't warehouse show buildings.

They don't make any sense as a comparison.

Theming doesn’t mean ornament. The Future World show buildings were absolutely themed. Their design was part of the story being told in the land and intended to be seen by guests.
