Random would work, but having each theater locked to a specific show would be an ops nightmare, I think. They'd have to have three separate queues, one for each theater.
I'm sure they could do three queues if they really wanted, but it also might result in a loss of capacity. I don't think they'd want a situation where two theaters have 80 minute waits and the other is a walk-on.
you still haven't acknowledged the problem of where do you put 2x more lines...hey but now you would have 3 rides instead of ONE.. hey lets go on the other one next...
I think there is room. That queue is like 15 feet wide. Throw some steel dividers down the middle. Instant 3 lane queue.you still haven't acknowledged the problem of where do you put 2x more lines...
You ask 'why' - that's the problem.. there isn't space to provide three different entrances, lines, etc.. oh and remember that lightning lane thing?![]()
And nobody would be happy to just get a random one.I agree, but from what I’ve been told, (and it kinda makes sense), the queue wou look d have to be redesigned to support 3 independent lines to 3 separate theaters…
Except it would have to be 6 lanes, to accommodate LL.I for one think this is a swell idea. If it could be monetised I'm sure they'd find a way to split the queue three-ways. There never seems to be a problem adding paid lines everywhere.
how do you know this? are you taking a census of the guests in this line? do you have complete and total inside knowledge from DISNEY that no one else here has? please share this info with all of us.. thanks..I think this would actually lower the capacity of the attraction... I assume if they did the split right now... Soarin over America and Soarin over California would have decently long lines... Soarin around the world would play to half empty theaters...
Also what happens if the soarin over america theather goes down and World is still playing to empty theaters?

The big issue isn’t logistics. The corridor connecting the theaters to the main pavilion is about 32’ (384”) wide to the face of its outside walls. Each queue lane needs to be a minimum of 44” wide. So six queue lanes plus an exit corridor is a minimum of 308” of clear width required. Thats just clear width and nothing else. The exterior structure and building envelope will eat into some of that. There’s also a chance that the exit corridor really needs to be wider to facilitate smooth exiting during normal operations.and have zero doubt Disney would be able to make it work logistically from the ride queue perspective.
There’s ENOUGH SW representation in WDW…don’t you DARE attempt to “shoehorn” SW into Soarin’Ok, I learned something today. I had thought there was only ONE concave screen per attraction, but now I know there are three screens at EPCOT and two at DCA. I think showing different films in the different theaters is an interesting idea and have zero doubt Disney would be able to make it work logistically from the ride queue perspective.
Where I think Disney has really missed the boat, so to speak, is in the films they produce for these attractions. I was introduced to the CA version and thought the Soarin' Over Cali film was pretty cool, for a while. Soarin' Around The World less so. I think Disney should be producing films that make better use of the flight simulation aspect of the ride. I'm sure they could accomplish more dramatic and exciting flight sequences. I'm thinking a Star Wars sequence featuring a space dogfight between Rebel Alliance and Empirical fighters, or other dynamic sequences. The ride intensity would be increased and disclaimers would be needed, but I think this would have very broad appeal (doesn't have to be a "war" type sequence, just anything that makes better use of the venue to provide more exciting experiences for guests). They also need a library of films and should rotate them on the regular. That would make the ride less of a "been there and done that" experience. My .02.
