That is a very specific data point. Hyper specific actually...
But it holds true

Was the dawn of a new world era never really seen before

If you want to put a more positive spin on it: it’s when the new deal plans that corrected the Great Depression took hold after war production bailed it out and the US became the unquestioned dominant world economic power. That went well for guys like Walter Elias

Meaning we should expect 2 hour waits at WDW and sold out hotels?

Nope…watch it play

It's still cold up North, it's warm in Florida. There are these metal things called "planes" you can sit in that take you from cold places to warm places. You can do anything you want when you get there. Mystery solved.

I'm sure the increasing economy issues and the 5 hour waits at airport due to TSA budgeting issues (not blaming anyone) won't have any effect.

By the way….. if you can make a choice to use Orlando / Sanford they do not use TSA so would not be affected by that situation.

The downside is - it’s about a $60 Uber ride to Disney property - but the flights are usually much cheaper if they work for you.

We flew to and from Hawaii in the last couple weeks. The TSA issues are way overblown and confined to a very few airports.

Most major airports in the US post their TSA wait times. You are welcome to check any of them whenever you'd like.
I have the official TSA app “My TSA.”
It has a notice stating that due to the lapse in federal funding it’s not being actively managed. Such incompetence!

Our flight home was a week ago today and the warning about hours-long waits was issued before we left on Feb 25th.

I hope I get as lucky as you did! I have some upcoming travel for work next month and summer and I do not look forward to it.

Did you read the article I linked? It references a new warning, issued by the TSA yesterday, March 13, and points to further complications due to the first missed paycheck for TSA employees.

Point is, what you called “overblown and confined to a few airports” due to your own experience has gotten much worse since the Feb. 24th warning.

I flew out of MCO last week, and had to wait about 40 minutes in the security line.

A 40 minute wait is not unusual at MCO during busy times. Their TSA isn’t efficient to begin with, busier times don’t help with it. We always build extra time into our schedule because of TSA there.

Agreed - Orlando is one of my least favorite airports to fly out of. Flying into MCO is fine but I try to fly out of Orlando Sanford if possible. The extra $$$ for the Uber is always offset by the low prices on Allegiant

Yeah, 40 min wasn’t bad.
I just don’t think a personal anecdote is enough to gauge larger trends or the veracity of a TSA warning of delays.

MCO is the only reason I got Pre-check, because their TSA is so terrible.
