Is not setting it up to operate for another 45 years an improvement?
Maintenance... improvement... I'm not equating the two. I don't get to tell my superiors that by patching servers we "improved the environment for another year".

Not at all. BTM is a roller coaster with physical thrills and not a lot outside that engaging your senses. Splash/TBA is a flume ride that is supposed to engage you and tell a story with visuals and sounds more than physical thrills (except the ending, of course).
Funny you ignored all the other posts... I guess that's necessary to keep up the reality distortion field.
Clearly they should blow up the whole thing and make “even bigger thunder mountain”. It was Walt Disney’s last dream after all!
How many miles of track does big thunder have? They literally rebuilt the track, every mile of that track was installed in less then a year in half.
Why can't it be important maintenance and also take longer than it should? I am a pixie-duster at my core, but this is a self-inflicted wound. That’s what I’m saying. I’m sick and tired of whenever an attraction undergoes a major refurbishment for much needed TLC and upgrades and all people care about is “cLoSeD fOr a YeAr?! WhEn’S iT rEoPeNiNg?!” Goes to show too many people don’t give a crap about enhancements to the ride experience, all they want is to get their precious ride back.
Like I get it - Thunder’s been closed for a year and two months so far while Buzz is also closed and the ROA and TSI are gone. But the fact that it’s getting significant upgrades at all after years of neglect and deferral, in my eyes, is more significant.
Which is before December.GREAT TO HEAR, I missed it is there an actual date?
Oh they said early May, to me, the latest would be about May 15th
Highly themed outdoor roller coaster, and a server. Yep, those are the same.Maintenance... improvement... I'm not equating the two. I don't get to tell my superiors that by patching servers we "improved the environment for another year".
Who decides what takes longer than it should? What determines that? Why can't it be important maintenance and also take longer than it should? I am a pixie-duster at my core, but this is a self-inflicted wound.
X 2........2,780 ft so a little more then a half a mile.
The fact that they are doing what they are doing what they are doing in Frontierland right now personal opinions aside is really not that great in terms of absorbing capacity at the moment. That’s what I’m saying. There is a reason why Disneyland's version of the attractions that are at both MK and DL tends to be the superior version of the two with some notable exceptions. That’s what I’m saying. Space Mountain at DL was closed for two and a half years but the end result was well worth it.How long could they keep it closed and still be hunky dory? 2 years? 3? 4? What’s the difference after all. As long as it’s getting the tender love and care it deserves!

They won’t be equal because they are different layouts. All of them are great for different reasons - hopefully there will be some really nice visuals and working possums! Will MK have the best version after the refurbs or will they be equal?
