Steve already mentioned the internal goal. But, it is too early to know. It just closed. 5/26 would definitely require a sprint. Could easily drift into June.CONGRATULATIONS!

Spring break is not peak season. Fall-Christmas is. Seeing as spring break is 6 months away from that time, it’s going to have a lot of refurbs.

A 16-month closure was going to impact several peak weeks. The main goal was to avoid impacting two Christmas seasons. They would not have moved this up to December 2024 to have it ready for Easter 2026.
Their deadline was Spring 2026, last time I checked May is still spring.

Yes, and they actually hustled with the new track. We saw how quickly they got to work on it. They don't purposely delay projects at MK in 2026. They need the capacity.

Given that their stated timelines frequently push the boundaries of the named season, it was always a very reasonable assumption.

I understand that you’re frustrated that you’ll miss it, but March or April was an assumption. Similarly, when they announce a summer opening, many assume Memorial Day. Yet, many recent summer openings didn’t come until June or July. It is what it is. Attractions open when they’re ready, not when you’re ready.

Out of curiosity, when is an acceptable time to have headliner riders down for year long maintenances? Kinda hard to time frame to rip up the entire track of a ride and redo it to improve guest satisfaction and hold to a reasonable safety standard no?
We know what happens with BTMRR when maintenance decides to cheap out no?

The beginning of Summer is Memorial Day for almost everyone. Yes, I would think that May (before memorial day) is still Spring. They announced Spring because they didn't know the exact date it would be ready, just that it would before the end of it. Did you assume that Disney would just not announce an opening date two weeks before it opens for a headliner?

In my opinion, In the old days there were noticeable peak and off peak seasons.
In the old days, schools really tried to make parents to keep theirs kids in school and only take the breaks specified by the schools, therefore Spring used to be a peak season.
Post pandemic it seems you can do as you wish and the remote schooling technology we have now can make that happen easily, so families have been trained to stay away during the peak times and what was a peak time is now not a peak time.
And it’s just my opinion, in general, with the new LL system, the parks are more evenly miserable all year around

Because they don’t know the exact date yet. But they are giving people an idea of when to expect it.
This post sums it up nicely. If they wait until they know an exact date for this kind of complete refurbishment, then we’d have two weeks notice. And then everyone would be complaining that they weren’t telling us anything.
As it is, if you have a trip booked for April, you know it won’t be ready. If you’ve booked for early May, there’s a chance. Mid May gives a better chance etc.
