Avengers Campus: Food, Entertainment, M&G, Environment Updates

@MarvelCharacterNerd - Just a FYI, I walk through Avengers Campus pretty much every week for some scenic exercise and they did have an Avengers Assemble activation yesterday (Sat @ 11am, Jeep version) so I can confirm this version is still happening sometimes. These moments are not listed in the app so you kinda gotta be a park regular to "know" the time routine when they might occur
lol I'm a regular. I spend several hours there per week. :) And it was a lead who told me they are not doing the activations after I hadn't seen them for a few weeks, so I guess that lead was wrong. And maybe they switched the times. It was happening in October-December in afternoons and occasional evenings. But if they switched it to mornings, cool, glad if it's still happening at some point in the day.

I’m sure we’ll see a spike in new characters by this summer. If they aren’t doing any more from the shows then we can scratch off Wonder Man, Daredevil (maybe), and Vision.

Doomsday promotion this fall/winter is gonna be the big one though. I have a feeling they could really hype up Doctor Doom around Oogie Boogie Bash to cement him as the new villain of the land.

Plus the X-Men characters and new designs/suits for Avengers/Fantastic Four characters we’ve seen before.

I’m guessing we won’t get any new characters for Spider-Man Brand New Day- I don’t think Disney wants a guy dressed like the Punisher walking around DCA…
Happily, the info I'd heard a while ago is panning out. They're switching characters in and out while there's no new movie out right now.

Hawkeye started meeting guests today. :)

Was happy this week to again run into an Avengers assemble moment and a friend caught the Loki entrance moment again too.

Also very happy that they seem to be swapping in returning characters every few weeks as we wait for a new movie. First was Monica Rambeau, next was Hawkeye, and latest is Red Guardian who always adds great energy to Campus.

Disney is approaching DCA like a redneck Sarah Winchester, just putting random expansions without rhyme nor reason.

I wonder why Avenger's Campus isn't more popular. Maybe we should let them eat inside the old Fastpass Distribution Area. You know, the one we should have rethemed when we did the cheap retheme of TOT? We can just paint it again and BINGO, beautification complete! So immersive.

I mean, yes, in general the DCA approach is lazy, lackluster, and knee-jerk, but what did y'all want them to do here? Kaboom the distribution area the way they Kaboomed the tower?

Because there's so much love for that around here as is, right?

Well they already did it with the tallest structure at the resort, a tiny 10 foot structure in the name of consistency wouldn't hurt. I would have settled for anything but the colors du jour (or du last decade I should say) - stark white and gray. Even if in a vacuum I find them more pleasant than the tower color scheme. Anything with the brown, tan, red, yellow color scheme to make the area feel like it wasn't so random. Wouldn't really need all the accessories that are on the tower. Just some paint that would compliment the huge structure it sits in the shadow of.

Eh, that'd probably be ugly too. Count me as someone who feels like people would complain about literally anything they did with that old FastPass area. That's just the way this fandom is.

Probably but would most likely work better than that random white/ gray structure

I mean, I'd rather not waste money on band aids and instead fast track solutions.

That corridor between Animation Academy and Hyperion has always been one of the worst areas in all Disney parks. I want Disney to make choices and fix that corner. especially before Avengers Campus has their expansion.

Decide if the Hyperion is staying and if staying, build a lobby whose exterior helps transition is to Avengers Campus. theme the side and back of the Animation Building and make that an opportunity to create new points of visual interest and seating rather than remaining and sticking tables in a concrete cage. It has all of the charm of the outdoor seating area between two office building. Some metal tables. gaudy umbrellas, a heavy concrete blocks.

I want to see it and say, aww, that looks like a cute little place to sit and eat. Pelican's Reef (or whatever they redid next to the Harbour Galley), it's simple but pretty. Even the Cars seating expansion behind Cozy Cine feels more appealing.

Grow some ivy. Give it weird Dr Strange/Guardians topiaries. Give it character and charm. Like Disney used to do.

I’ve always kind of dug the place making in this area actually. Particularly when TOT was still there. Turning right on Sunset and being nooked between the Animation Building and the Hyperion with TOT looming was cool. Felt kind of lived in and real like you re really in Hollywood/ Burbank somewhere. Those old school windows on the side of the Animation building and lampposts go a long way for me. Honestly If they just made the whole land feel like the studios in Burbank I’d love it. Hopefully they lean hard into that aesthetic for the DHS addition.
