News Who Will Replace Josh D'Amaro as Disney Experiences Chairman?

Contextually, the random Disneyland media event where nothing of real substance was covered makes a lot more sense.
Is that the one a weekend or two ago where a few influencers were flown out and there was no real news to report?

I know the guy from the forbidden website went, but for the life of me can’t recall anything that came out of that.

Yup, that one! There was some actual media there too.

I don’t know if it was test run of his presentation skills or a bid. Showmanship is fairly important for this role.

It was mostly a reiteration and I guess a nod that they were going to delay the Monsters closure. Very “could have been an email” energy, otherwise.

Such a weird thing. If anything, it signal boosted the whole “uhh. So what’s up with Avatar land?” stuff.

Prediction: Jill will take her first official tour of Disneyland, followed by a phalanx of lieutenants and staff dutifully jotting notes and snapping punch-list photos, and when they get to the Madame Leota gift shop she will stop. And after a long pause, she will turn to her entourage and say: "What the ----ing hell is this?"
I wouldn't be so optimistic in that department, the background of most of these people are in consumer products remember.

very happy with the changes, yeah it's not who us die hard fans woulda choose but overall all the recent changes in positions of leadership I think a very good since it's not Jeff and also darn it's brutal everyone got some type of change except Jeff.
Not being Jeff is not a very high standard, but we shall see what happens.

Wouldn’t the President of WDW have a voice in things like pricing? The pricing that may or may not be playing a part in lower attendance while at the same time squeezing the guests that do show up more and more? 🧐 Not to mention the long-standing rumor that he despises both Figment and the Imagination pavilion.

Yeah. That’s someone I want running DPEP... 👎

You may be right, she comes from a Marketing background. But for the time being I will hang my optimism on the fact that the very best marketing for a Disney park is to build a new attraction. Maybe she's a bulldog that can get the money for DLR.

That doesn't guarantee they will spend it wisely.

He apparently has a voice in WDI's creative process considering the Hatbox Ghost dilemma.

It does now put the Main Experiences guy as having reiterated it is happening and not delayed. So unless he was lying, some of the internet reverberations/wishful thinking that it has been cancelled seem to be off the mark.

They tilted leadership with recent Disneyland experience for a reason. I don't believe in coincidences.

Not to defend Jeff but are we blaming external factors on him ?

Also we have so many things under construction that will help grow attendance in the future. Mazloum hasn’t been at DL a very long time either like only a year or so.
We’ve gone to both WDW and DL a bunch over the last few years. I’m not sure what external factors magically only affect WDW va DL, but the guest experience has far more greatly diminished at WDW as compared to DL. That’s on Vahle.

Mazloum has a lot of hospitality experience. I don't know if/how that's necessarily going to translate well into the parks. People will get a taste of his presentation skills at D23, I'd imagine.
