Josh D'Amaro has named Jill Estorino President of Disneyland Resort as Thomas Mazloum moves to Chairman of Disney Experiences:

Jill Estorino has been named President, Disneyland Resort, where she will continue to elevate the guest and cast experience at the company’s original, iconic destination.

Over her 35-year career, Estorino held numerous leadership roles, including Executive Vice President of Global Marketing and Sales for Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, where she played a key role in the grand opening of Shanghai Disney Resort. Most recently, as President of Disney Parks International, Estorino oversaw the operations, expansion and development of Disney’s international parks and resorts, including Disneyland Paris, Hong Kong Disneyland, Shanghai Disney Resort and Tokyo Disney Resort with the Oriental Land Company. Estorino successfully expanded Disney’s global footprint at sites around the world, reaching new consumers and fans from around the world. Since her appointment, Disney’s international parks have seen strong performance and growth.

In her new role as Disneyland Resort President, Estorino brings a global perspective shaped by decades of leadership across Disney’s diverse portfolio of experiences. As a strong business and marketing strategist, she focuses on brand stewardship, exceptional guest experiences, and a deeply connected cast culture. Estorino will guide the resort through its next phase of growth while continuing to foster the culture and community that has defined Disneyland.

Well, I assume these changes should indicate that whatever “master plan” D’Amaro and Mazolum had in mind for DL will be implemented.

A new TDA President Du Jour! And a lady, this time. I think this makes her only the 3rd lady President in Disneyland history?

How many Churros do we have on her staying longer than 18 months? With her stodgy corporate background with decades solely in marketing and "brand stewardship" (what the heck is that?), I'm betting she doesn't last long. Perhaps longer than the previous lady who Instagrammed herself routinely but only lasted six months or so, but probably not the full 3 year gig.

I can't imagine she's going to want to get out there and pretend to be friends, much less feign actual interest in their job duties, with the working class CM's she now leads. Or even their Dockers-clad managers. Just by going off her head shot and pre-scrubbed bio that obviously downplays her lifelong job in Marketing and pretends she knows anything about Operations or Hospitality.

I'll bet 2 Churros she doesn't last longer than 18 months. And I'll bet 5 Churros she's not there two years from now.

You're up, Jill! 🥳

Try your hardest to channel Ops Guy Matt Ouimet, instead of previously maligned failures, the marketers and merchandisers like Paul Pressler, Cynthia Harriss, Ed Grier or Rebecca Campbell (who???).

Before its changed on Disney's corporate site to reflect her new gig, here's the bio for her as she was known before becoming Disneyland President Du Jour...

"Throughout her career with The Walt Disney Company, Estorino has held a variety of site-based and global leadership roles focused on driving visitation and affinity for Disney’s products and offerings. Her past roles include Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales, Asia Pacific; Senior Vice President, Marketing Strategy; and Senior Vice President of Marketing at both Hong Kong Disneyland and the Disneyland Resort in California.

A widely sought-after speaker and thought leader on brand experience and marketing innovation, Estorino is also a passionate advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion. She serves as the executive champion for several internal and external initiatives, including the Black consumer experience, which aims to deepen The Walt Disney Company’s relationship with new and existing consumers, as well as focusing on elevating women in the workplace. Estorino believes in paying it forward in nurturing the next generation of leaders and has spearheaded various mentorship programs."

According to Grok, Ms. Estorino graduated from Florida State University in 1985 with a Bachelor's in Education, so that would put her in her early 60's now. She may have wanted to be a teacher, originally.

But she started with Disney when she was in her late 20's, in 1991, in the Travel Sales department at WDW.

That was back when WDW had entire armies of humans that were called "travel agents", to help you book your next Disney World vacation. You poured through brochures, and a catalog of hotels that Disney sent out, then called a phone number in Florida to book everything over the phone with a human in Travel Sales.

I wonder if Ms. Estorino was ever a travel agent? Or if she just started as a manageress or some sort of cushy marketing gig. I'd like her more right off the bat if we could find a circa 1991 picture of her looking like this... 🤣

"Thank you for calling Walt Disney World Travel Sales, this is Jill, how may I make your day more magical?!"

It is so disappointing continually these sales/marketing people are chosen in these leadership roles.

What would be smart is to pair a smart financial person with a creative person to co-lead these roles.

She serves as the executive champion for several internal and external initiatives, including the Black consumer experience.
I'm amazed in this century we have a white person showboating and boasting about how they are the savior of another race.

It is very tone deaf and insensitive and only serves as a pat on the back. A white person is the "executive champion" of the black consumer experience? Does TWDC not promote African Americans to executive roles so they have to have the white people there "champion" them?

Can you imagine? It would be like.... um.... like.... Walt and Roy!

A creative showman of Epic proportions and his financial whizkid little brother, but Walt always got the last word and Roy's job was to really just find the money for Walt to do his next thing.

I've got no read on Ms. Estorino other than her pre-approved corporate bio and that head shot. But from the first pass, I'm not sure how she's going to do being the President of Disneyland. Or why she'd even want to, aside from the extra cash she gets above her previous Senior VP pay grade.

They really made for a great pair. To an extent it also worked out well for Eisner and Frank Wells before his passing. Historically there is precedent for this.

Seems she did some marketing for international parks but I really don't know how it translates into being park president.

I hope she will do a great job and wow us all, but it seems in Disney leadership changes that they tend to seemingly randomly shuffle people around.

The former president of Disneyland just gave a press conference in front of the media a few weeks ago about his vision and changes coming up. Now he has already left the role. Where do those plans and strategies fall now? Will the new president continue them? Will she do her own thing?

I was actually pleasantly surprised by how he mentioned addressing maintenance and customer service declines but now he is in a low too far removed from these issues.

These changeups happen so frequently it means likely nothing gets done at the rate it should.

I was hoping someone else would mention that! 🤣

I'm as white as they get, just like Ms. Estorino, even with the Romance Language vowel at the end of her name.

But I've had several Black folks intimately involved in my life since the 20th century, and I love them dearly. I can guarantee that if you asked them who could be the "the executive champion for several internal and external initiatives, including the Black consumer experience." it would not be this lady from Florida.... 😒

Like you, I'm surprised at the language being used in Disney's corporate executive bio website. It reads like it was written by HR in 2018, when the world has changed dramatically now in 2026. This isn't a good sign that Burbank's senior leadership knows what is going on here and now.

You aren't wrong. It's very much in the past to have this sort of white savior complex. It seems so outdated and I'm amazed no one has edited her bio by now.

Is she still the african american executive champion? It really is gross if Disney isn't having any actual people of color to lead this change.

What's next, is Bob Iger the official champion of the disabled? Josh Gad the Chinese representative?

Per the usual PR machinations from Burbank and TDA, in the next few weeks we should see Ms. Estorino make her debut at Disneyland via an interview with the OC Register, with a TDA Photographer trailing her around the park taking sun-dappled pics of her laughing big huge laughs with hourly employees, and a few highly managed chats with well-vetted Lifestylers on the usual sites and outlets.

In anticipation of these PR releases into what makes Ms. Estorino tick and what she plans to do, I'm already filling in my New TDA President Du Jour Bingo Card with the following squares:
  • Her humble East Coast childhood that was too poor to go to WDW, so to think she actually works for Disney now...
  • Her humble East Coast childhood where regular visits to WDW were treasured, so to think she actually works for Disney now...
  • She's unable to say what her favorite ride is because everything is her favorite.
  • She says her favorite ride is something brand new because of its diversity and relevancy. (cough, Tiana)
  • She was dumbstruck when she recently walked through a very quiet park before opening.
  • A reminder that Disneyland is the only park Walt walked through. So, you know...
  • She will focus on the Guests, who love the magic.
  • She will focus on the Cast Members, who make the magic.
  • She will focus on the Anaheim neighbors and business community, who live next to the magic.
  • The word "stewardship"
  • The word "inclusion"
  • The word "iconic"
  • Sports a "Jill" name tag so new and shiny you can see it from space.
  • A reference to the socio-cultural importance Disney theme parks have to Americans. Also foreigners.
  • A fun, quirky admission that she has a cat/dog/husband/child/hobby/or personal interest.
  • She has a McMansion out in Winter Park, and a condo in West LA, but is looking for new home in OC to cut commute. (Secret: She never contacts a realtor, gone from TDA position by '28)
Ready, gang?! Let's play New TDA President Du Jour Bingo!

I read both articles posted. Oh jeez *barf* corporate speak.

When will we ever get a real person again to be president of Disneyland?

But did you read this part in that article? Maybe it would help?

"Sitting across from Estorino during a conversation on the state of the industry is like attending a masterclass. She holds eye contact and inserts your name into the conversation to affirm she is engaged with the dialogue."

She makes eye contact, and can remember your name for at least 30 minutes!

She's like a real human you may know, or even a Marriott timeshare saleslady. So relatable! So engaged with the dialogue!
