That piece of art was specifically made to reflect years of design work. It is not an early piece of art by any metric. The art was posted along with the park announcement back in 2019.

I think the point is they stuck very closely to the art released to the public when we have seen others not do that. In this case, 2019 aligns quite well with 2025, at least based on what was shared. So you're assuming that the pieces of art released to the public are the entirety of what was created over the years long process that it took for the park to be designed and built?
In the post he was originally responding to, you said compromises were made over 2020-22. This art was released before that.So you're assuming that the pieces of art released to the public are the entirety of what was created over the years long process that it took for the park to be designed and built?
I mean the park entrance changed, the hotels actual building changed, an attraction was completely changed, and we don't know how many other things changed because of how truthfully vague most of the lands looked.I think the point is they stuck very closely to the art released to the public when we have seen others not do that. Thanks for such a positive report from someone who has just been there. I will be there in May and can't wait!I don't know what's going on *waves hands*. Anyway...
My Dad and I went to Epic last Sunday, our 5th day in the park and had another great time. This was the first visit where we just did what we felt like doing and not trying to squeeze in everything because it was someone in our party's first time. So as a result we basically were able to do the park counter-clockwise starting and ending in Berk. What we did:
Hiccups Winged Gliders x 2 (first was basically a walk on, 2nd was about 25 minutes)
Cafe L'air (Turkey sandwich and Butterbeer creme brulee - new for Butterbeer season)
Battle for Ministry (50 minutes posted and pretty dead on)
Wand spots for the first time, and exploring Paris when it was not blazing hot or pouring rain
Monsters Unchained (Ygor behind curtain, bride stationary, everything else was great)
Das Steakhouse (Chicken Wings and Red Velvet Death)
Monsters Unchained (the bride was moving this trip)
Constellation Carousel
I left my Dad for an hour to play with my power band
Pizza Moon (Pepperoni Pizza) - we were going to only eat new food, but yet...
Yoshi Adventure (25 minutes)
Mario Kart (40 minutes)
Battle for Ministry (posted was an hour, we were off the ride in 30 minutes)
8:45 Cafe L'air again and we each got a Butterbeer creme brulee
Walked around Berk at night and so my Dad could pick up the LP from the one shop
Caught the end of the night time show around Atlantis before some last minute shopping.
We had periods of slowly moving line, but we didn't experience a single breakdown while waiting! The closest was one of the cycles on the carousel stopped midway and it took about 10 minutes for those riders to get a proper cycle. Our ride was fine. Cirque Arcanue was delayed a good chunk of the delay. Donkey Kong went down in the evening but those were even the only "delays" I saw on the app. I would have liked a 2nd ride on Mario Kart but I knew my Dad wanted to do HP again. Also, I would have liked to attempted the single rider line for DK but I didn't expect to ride it at all that day. We have already committed way too much time in that line for the 2 rides we've done, lol.
The Butterbeer creme brulee and the Chicken Wings from Das Steakhouse have been added to our "we would most definitely eat those again! list. I came home yesterday but we were at the primary resort to try the rest of the Butterbeer Season treats (minus the apple since that is a permanent addition) so I was able to pop into the Preview store for my Pizza Moon T-shirt. Limited sizing for those babies already. Lots of smalls, but I think they only put out a few of the other sizes and thankfully there was one left in my size. My Dad missed out but he got a Plastered Owl tee so we could get the 2 for $50 pricing.
I still need more time in Super Nintendo Land. The last 2 times my band did not pair and so I didn't earn any stickers, and I broke the 100 coin mark both times *sigh*. Still haven't seen characters let alone met one. But the biggest annoyance is parents that let their kids interfere with other people's play. I wanted to do the note blocks activity, I waited while a 3 year old kid was trying to do the green one for over 5 minutes. He was like 5, didn't understand what he was supposed to hit, wasn't listening to his Mom and she didn't encourage him to move on while knowing I was waiting. They eventually leave, I start my game. 2 hits in and 3 kids come running in and start randomly hitting the blocks while their parents watched. I'm going to need to A. Bring DH so I have a partner, and B. find a time when people are focusing on rides and not the activities so much, or reached the point where the parents are dead but the kids are still going. Props to the TM who helped me with the bongos because I could not get that timing right!
So 9 rides, 4 food breaks, wand and power band play. It was a full day. Still need to eat a meal in Mead Hall, the Blue Dragon, a non-breakfast at Oak & Star and probably get something at Toadstool Cafe for the novelty. Next time (probably September).
I’ve never understood it.Like @flynnibus I too seem to lack affinity for this attraction. I only nostalgically know the park from several visits before it existed and then only experienced it in 2011 when it was already a bit older.
I’d happily throw the entirety of this park on the fire, other than Diagon Alley, ET and Mummy; then maybe Bourne/transformers inside (and I don’t even like Gringotts). But to be clear it’s way way way down the list of things I think need to be dealt with. It just needs a good modernization.
Wait. What attraction are you talking about?I’ve never understood it.
Toy Story mania is so much better it’s hilarious. Why do we need two Toy Story shooter rides?
I mean at that point you could close it and put a woody’s roundup shooter, wouldn’t make sense either.
I’m not against an IP having multiple experiences in the same resort, but having two shooters is weird.
Toy Story could make a killer Lincoln log flume ride, a Test Track style Pizza Planet Racers ride, a Woody’s Round-Up classic style dark ride.
The options are infinite.
I would’ve much rather a Stitch shooter ride with experiments like a Pokemon Snap Safari or something, or potentially what Tokyo is doing with Wreck it Ralph.
Is Inside Out going to make its way in the old Alien Encounter space? wonders of life? Imagination?
I’d be surprised if they don’t. Stitch is huge too they both need m reps
For me as someone who went on our first time a few months back, leave extra time for How to Train your Dragon land. There is a ton there, and it's just amazing to walk around. None of us new the franchise so we planned it last and were all exhausted, and all walked away sad we didn't go there first. Also, the hidden away restaurants in Dark World are super cool just to walk around.. Temper your expectations on Nintendo World, it's just super compacted for me, and I was not a big fan of the theming. Thanks for such a positive report from someone who has just been there. That would drive the style clicks.I’m here for them just recreating Amity with the area in the back of the park. Make Jaws again using that new boat system everyone seems to think will one day be used for Creature from the Black Lagoon and have it replace the (basically) unused Fear Factor stage and Men in Black. Then they still have the Simpson’s area to do whatever else they want. Whether it’s an old IP or a “new” one like Wicked or something similar
BuzzWait. What attraction are you talking about?
Disney does know that.I think there is room for the older attractions and the newer IP's too. I don't see why Disney doesn't notice that people love the older IP and non IP, and just add the newer things instead of getting rid of their iconic rides/attractions.
Oh, the topic was about MIB Alien Attack rather than Buzz.Buzz
Oh my badOh, the topic was about MIB Alien Attack rather than Buzz.
Agreed on that, I love IOA, I really do like Epic even though it has a lot of problems. For me, USF is the worse park in Florida. The worst version of anything, it doesn't know what it wants to be at all and makes 0 sense. Theres like 2 rides in the whole park that I like. Revenge of the Mummy and ET. (3 actually since I do like MIB)That would drive the style clicks.
USF is the biggest wasted opportunity in theme park history.
How to train your dragon is one of the lands that I want to see the most. The other is Monsters land. I am not a fan of Mario at all so I can skip that one easily. We will definitely spend a lot of time at HTTYD. We will also look for all those hidden away restaurants in Dark World. So I think Das Stakehouse was the one we just walked around and checked out (don't think we ordered anything there), and the Burning Blade is where we got this awesome pretzel thing. That place also had little skits out front if I remember correctly. It's kind of in the back, we actually missed it when we went and just rode the two rides, we found that when we went back and explored the land a bit more later in the day.How to train your dragon is one of the lands that I want to see the most.
