MK Big Thunder Mountain to receive full retrack

I totally agree, as there should have been pre planning, but I have a feeling there was not, or there was things overlooked in the planning...

Just my feeling, but it seems Disney changes their mind sometimes mid-project like the Future World (renovation?),

Yup, the mounds of cement at the base of the light posts that needed to be fixed after opening, the ugly planter and the broken ground lighting, that is still broken, is because COVID ;)

Seriously, good then, should be no reason for any delays with Big Thunder. Looking forward to the spring opening. 👍

This is what I was responding to. I'm not speaking about what should be currently fixed, just that the project changed from its original intent due to the budget cuts that came from Covid. Had there been no budget cuts, Future World would look very different.

Of the issues listed in this thread - what was caused by Covid?

The mid-project changes to Future World that Disstevefan1 mentioned in the original post quoted.

In fairness they have had YEARS since Covid to fix those problems and issues.... they even have money tor tons of expansion...fix the shortfall of the last botched project before moving on to other things.....

This isn't about whether they had time to fix the problems or if they should even still be problems. I won't argue that it looks bad and is a stain on EPCOT. I'm simply saying that the reason it is what it is is because of budget cuts during Covid that made imagineers change the entire scope of the project midway through.

The question is, how many years will WDW use the COVID excuse to, at the very least, fix the ground lighting around the ugly planter?

At this point, I want walls back up, tear out the ugly planter and broken ground lighting and give is at least a small version of the fountain of nations,

I find myself rationalizing a lot, like "Club Cool looks like a small mall store but at least we still have it".

the Covid epidemic of 2019-2020 is over... it has been 7 years...they can't hold onto that excuse forever...it happened, it is over, there is money... fix the problems before moving on with a dozen other projects... the central core of EPCOT looks boring and unfinished... Get a water feature and focal point in place... Make it feel like the world class park that it is... get rid of the corporate office park aesthetic and make it kinetic and engaging...

there! the imagineers have already designed it... now add an animated show fountain around it and you have your classic Disney showpiece in the park that most resembles a World's Fair...

But was it contractors or the architect that specified the lights?
Neither. Specifications would have been a collaboration between the landscape architect, show lighting designer, electrical engineers and Walt Disney Imagineering. It may have been installed by a subcontractor under the general contractor or directly hired by Disney.

Nonsense. @Disstevefan1 , will you please correct this man? I mean to accuse you of stating something as fact when it’s not…
Its ok, This is just a fun discussion forum. Folks like to argue and call folks liars, it means nothing.

A lot of folks do this, for an unknown reason folks take my feelings, thoughts, guesses as fact??!! BIG MISTAKE!

I am just trying to figure out as to why things happen the way they happen at the theme parks and yes, I do have feelings, thoughts, guesses.

Some folks do not like feelings, thoughts, guesses and call folks liars for expressing feelings, thoughts, guesses.

NO ONE knows why TWDC do what they do and there are folks who will ALWAYS defend TWDC and make excuses for what happens AND THATS OK.

There are also other folks who think differently; those who have thoughts, opinions, guesses.

HOW BORING would these boards be if we were all of the same mind hive!!

Okay but the comment in particular was about an actual fact and not an opinion right?

You can't state there is a "hive mind" if its literally just the truth?

Ok, honest question - was it actually verified the tunnel was too small?

If so I will publicly declare my ignorance.
I did some digging.

Because TRON was taking so long to complete, the rumor started about the tunnel. The tunnel was fine.

According to my research, TRON took over 5 years to complete and the most significant delay was caused by........ Wait for it...... COVID.

I am willing to accept the COVID excuse for the failed Future World renovation and even TRON.

I presume the COVID excuse cannot be used on all the current work being done?

Unless we want to use "the loss of institutional knowledge due to COVID" as an on going excuse.

Folks can make up their own minds.

I might be mistaken but I thought this whole thing was about the tunnel causing Tron to take so long. I am not aware, at this moment, of many other situations where you stated something as if it were a fact that was incorrect.
The discussion was about possible Big Thunder delays @gorillaball , mentioned the tunnel rumor, I took that as maybe there was some sort of correction needed in the Big Thunder project that may be causing the delay, at least that is the way I interpreted it, "a possible mistake, or oversight made in the Big Thunder project that may be causing a delay", not a lack of planning and nothing to do with the tunnel specifically.

In a later post @gorillaball asked someone to research the tunnel rumor so I did some digging.

Because TRON was taking so long to complete, the rumor started about the tunnel. The tunnel was fine.

According to my research, TRON took over 5 years to complete and the most significant delay was caused by........ Wait for it...... COVID.

So yes, the tunnel rumor was false. The TRON delay was because COVID.

At this moment we do not know if Big Thunder will miss the officially announced Spring opening.

I think the speculation about why Big Thunder might have a delayed opening, started because the permits were extended?

Folks are simply speculating on why would Big Thunder's opening might be delayed.

I think its human nature for folks to get caught up on calling folks liars and lose track of the discussion at hand. THIS IS OK its all part of the fun.

@AidenRodriguez731, As for many other situations you say I stated something as if it were a fact that was incorrect, please bring them to my attention and I will try to explain my intention of my post.

I couldn’t love this idea more!!!! Tower of the 4 winds surrounded by water fountains - now THATS worthy of Epcot!

Give Walt something to look at!
