You don’t have to just make things up.
Not making stuff up, just stating my feelings.

Just like some folks feel the Future World renovation went perfectly to plan including the ugly planter, the broken ground lighting and the mounds of concrete around the light posts that the moment I saw it I knew it was a trip hazard that they had to fix days after the opening, I am sure some folks felt that was in the plan.

Do we think the permit extension is just overkill, like the old one’s supposed to expire next week but they should be done with it in like April so that’s why they extended it all the way to august? I’m only asking because I’m not normally looking at the permits lol.

In all fairness, Future World was impacted by Covid. This was not.

It looks like the permit was already extended to April?

Yup, the mounds of cement at the base of the light posts that needed to be fixed after opening, the ugly planter and the broken ground lighting, that is still broken, is because COVID ;)

Seriously, good then, should be no reason for any delays with Big Thunder. Looking forward to the spring opening. 👍

The permit gives no indication. It just lists “general construction”. It could be because major work still needs to be done and they won’t make a spring opening. It could be for minor work that can continue to be completed after reopening.

Never mind tearing down a building and replacing it with an uglier building that functions for basically the exact same purpose that the old building could have been used for.

At least we lost the raw sewage smell?
The building is just dressing for the really nice basement they built.

In fairness the plumbing has been a huge issue for 30+ years and having drink and puke festivals didn't lessen the load on the facilities

I totally agree, as there should have been pre planning, but I have a feeling there was not, or there was things overlooked in the planning...

Just my feeling, but it seems Disney changes their mind sometimes mid-project like the Future World (renovation?),
My feeling is they absolutely did preplan and one has nothing to do with the other.

This smells similar to the message boards saying Tron/Railroad was delayed because they didn’t make the tunnel big enough, because - internet pics as evidence.

I guess then the Tron RR tunnel being too small was not a lack of planning and just a plain mistake?

If Big Thunder does not open by end of Spring I wonder what mistake was made to delay its opening?

Maybe this discussion is moot and Big Thunder will open on time?

Why must there be a mistake. Sometimes, you start a project of this scale and realize more work than anticipated is required. Anyone who has renovated a bathroom has experienced this. And this is bigger than a bathroom.

OK not lack of planning, not a mistake, its a "more work than anticipated" OK.

Well, in spite of "more work than anticipated" lets hope they open by Spring.
