Whenever somebody complains about Matt Vogel's Kermit, I'm going to post this:

At the risk of repeating myself, more people would notice someone like Kermit sounding off than Judy Jetson or someone from Jellystone
I could understand somebody who isn't a fan of Hanna-Barbera not noticing, but even on the internet - where you can find fans of ANYTHING - you don't see that many people complain about the Hanna-Barbera characters in Jellystone not sounding right.

You'd think at least Quick-Draw McGraw sounding like Antonio Banderas for some reason would raise some eyebrows.

I think this Reddit post I saw shared in a Discord server nails why:
I firmly believe that the reason most non-fans are so turned off by Matt Vogel's Kermit is because they haven't readjusted to this change BECAUSE there's been so little Muppet media in the last decade. In Steve's first year as Kermit, we got three Muppet movies, two seasons of Muppet Tonight, and a slew of other specials and guest appearances. Meanwhile, Matt's done Kermit for a lot of disposable social media content for the Muppets, but in terms of major productions in the last decade, you've got the short wraparounds for Muppets Now, a glorified cameo in Muppets Haunted Mansion, and Kermit did not appear in Muppets Mayhem. That's it. How is anyone supposed to settle in to a new interpretation of a character if they barely get a chance to see them?
adding my voice to those who think the Muppet Show revival was Vogel's best performance as Kermit thus far, too

I think the main reason most people resent Vogel's Kermit is because of how Steve was forcibly ousted from the role. Some of you can detest Mr. Whitmire all you want, but that doesn't change the fact that Jim personally picked him to succeed the role. Another issue I think people have with the modern Muppets is how corporate driven they feel. Someone said that most of the modern Muppet productions involve the Muppets realizing they've lost relevancy and trying to regain it.

I don't have high hopes for this overlay. It's going to be rushed and underwhelming. It's sole existence is to placate people upset over the closure of Muppetvision. I wouldn't be surprised if Scooter and the Penguins are cannibalized figures from the show. I don't care what Brian Henson says, have you seen what Disney does to their animatronics? Look at Buzzy, Mr. Hamm, Stitch, and the figures from Splash Mountain and tell me that Bean, Statler, and the others are stored nearly in the Archives. I mean, the figures from DCA's Muppetvision are reportedly entombed in the theatre, rotting away.

There will never be anything to replace Aerosmith Rockin Roller Coaster. It was one of a kind and will remain one of a kind and cant' be duplicated or replaced. Sad day when it closed. We were there the week before it closed and made trip from Pa to Fla just to ride it close to the end. 5 times in two days... So sad.....so sad

I think the main reason most people don't like his Kermit is because it doesn't sound like the Henson version they'd been hearing in most of the movies/shows.

I don't know (nor care) about any succession drama, and I'm guessing that's true of a lot of people who don't like the difference in voices.

I don't understand this logic. What can't be duplicated or replaced? Aerosmith? They are literally retiring a "retired band" that isn't as popular and now has plenty of warts and baggage.

The pre-show was a video with zero animatronics and you blitz through sets that don't have anything to do with Aerosmith.

Bring on the Muppets in this space. They are timeless and they can add songs in their catalog. Hopefully we'll see them next store as well.
