Trip Report Our Christmas trip do-over

If youre lucky enough to be my spouse, every night is like Valentines and every day is like Christmas. Well, at least thats what i think. My wife might disagree to an extent lol!

But, we are having a "second" Christmas trip of sorts. Only Christmas isnt in March, which is when we are going. So what exactly do I mean by all of this?

We spent 12 days at WDW in December to celebrate Christmas. Our friends joined us with their kids as well. And while we had a blast and the trip was great, it was their first time at WDW as a family and many of the things that C (my wife) and i wanted to do, didnt happen as we were often changing plans to accommodate our friends (which we did not mind at all).

It was just difficult for them with timing rides and getting to and from the parks and getting the kids fed and naps and all that fun stuff. And C and I didnt have anything specific planned such as dining reservations or rides. We take it slow on our trips and aren't worried about how many rides we get on and we had plans to take it slow and explore some new things in the parks and resorts, and while we did do some of that, we wanted our friends and the kids to have a good first trip so we didn't mind getting in a bunch of attractions when we were all together.

So this trip will be our "do-over" of taking it slow! Slow for us also includes lots of eating, snacking and drinking at various places. Now, lets get to the details:

Who: My wife and I

1980842705_HIGH.jpg

When: March 1-8

Where: Copper Creek at Wilderness Lodge

Will there be a dog? That's proprietary.

We have a 1 br villa so it will be nice to have the extra room and as some of you know, my wife gets a high from doing laundry on vacation so shes excited for a room with a washer/dryer!

Our arrival day is also the last day of operations for RnR. I was up this morning to secure LL's for us. I was successful and I booked it for later in the evening. We watched a live stream for the last day at Dinosaur at AK and it definitely seemed to be a wild time as it got closer to park closing so hopefully it will be a fun time, even thos we will miss Aerosmith being the headliner.

We've got a few ADRs planned as well as some new spots we will be visiting that I will update soon.

And yes (@Tuvalu ) I will finish my Jan TR before we leave 😊😁

We headed over to Nomad Lounge for a snack amd drink but the bar was packed and a 60 minute wait for a table. We had 30 minutes until Zootopia Tree of Life whatever its called now and as we left Nomad Lounge it started sprinkling. Weather app showed rain coming so we decided to head out and good thing as ot started pouring as we were on the bus.

Since Nomad was a bust, Geyser Point was next!

After our mid day break we went to bus stop.for Epcot. As we waited, it started raining! Weather app had said no more rain the day smh.

C was wearing berkenstock sandles that cant be in the rain so we went back to the room so.she could change. We decided to take a Lyft instead of the bus and got dropped off at Boardwalk. We had a LL for Ratatouille amd figured we would be closer to International Gateway.

It was still raining when we arrived so we went to Bellevue Lounge to ride it

The bartender just set the can in the cup and it poured itself. Pretty cool

At the top of the hill we noticed a gold coin that is wedged in between the rocks. It doesnt seem possible that someone could have thrown it as it is sitting upright and lodged between the rocks

Even if someone was walking on the track it seems to be in a tough spot to reach. I did a Google search but nothing came up. Anybody know what or how this got there?!!
Here at AK today and had the best safari experience we've ever had!

Wednesday

Another slow but enjoyable start to the day. We eventually decided to go to HS

Our forst attraction was Joffreys espresso martinis

20260304_120358.jpg

We get the double shot of grey goose. This is IMO the best bang for your buck in terms of booze. These bad boys are strong!

C was feeling the buzz amd we stopped at Legends of Hollywood

20260304_121250.jpg

We went over to the Vilains show but right as we arrived it was canceled. We did a get a pic of the guitar with the now removed badges

20260304_123018.jpg

We did ride Star Tours before heading out. It was a very fun late morning stop at the park

I forgot to mention that when Sparrow was in line, I think one lady thought it was actually Johnny Depp. She literally started making noises that I can only equate to Dolphins squeeking crossed with parrots screeching. It was quite interesting.

It was back to the room after lunch. Amd if you thought there would be no dogs in this report, think again!

Dexter and his dad live in Orlando. I trained Dexter about a year ago. I met his dad a few years ago when I was at Hollywood Studios with my dog Edith. He commented on how well behaved she was and we chatted for a few minutes. He got my number for when he got a dog and wanted me to train it. And here we are now!

I was so glad we got the chance to hang out.

Thursday

We actually had a plan in mind today! We got to MK with a few minutes to spare before rope drop. Our fist attraction?

2054305207_HIGH (1).jpg

So close, but still nowhere near getting it right. C was trying to mimic the face of the lady in the painting.

We rode PoTC after (no pic). On our way out C asked if we should just ask the Beak and Barrel staff is there any availability. It was 10 am and they were jsut opening. We figured it was a long shot but we asked and glad we did as they let us in!

20260305_095924.jpg

We ordered the "Barrels a Blaze" which is jack daniels, honey, lemon and chile. The bartender said it had a kick amd he wasnt joking. They were excellent.

We also ordered the corn griddle cakes

20260305_100538.jpg

These were very good and we would get it again. The lighting in the bar doesnt allow for the best pictures and i didnt want to use a flash.

We didnt have drinks at MK at 10 am on our bingo.card for the day, but glad it happened.

We ordered another round and had a great time as the bartenders and staff do a great job entertaining, telling jokes and just all around keep things fun. We sersiously jad a blast and cant wait to.go back.
