EPCOT Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

Why would you use AI to try to fake a confidential leak? Coco came out a year FEA after opened. There’s no world where this could’ve ever been considered lol.
It’s a joke.😂

My point was a Coco ride could fit like a glove.

They should still do it!

I say add Coco to Mexico, Tangled in Germany, Mary Poppins in the UK, Mulan in China, Aladdin in Morocco, and plop a new pavilion: Thailand, Greece, Argentina, South Korea, Israel, Iran, UAE, Brazil, Poland, any of those would be so cool.

Mhmm, Greece with a Hercules ride would be neat too.

I’d rather keep what’s left of pure world showcase pure instead of the heavy IP injection you’re suggesting
That ship sailed a while ago.

I think the pavilions should represent their countries but I don’t mind at this point if they just added on an Aladdin magic carpet dark ride to Morocco.

It’s like, it’s only a net positive at this point, but I agree in an ideal world.

I only preferred this look because it was what I grew up with and naturally, I'd be nostalgic for it. However, I'd have to side eye anyone who says this looked measurably better than what's there now (excluding the FON because it is honestly a travesty that it doesn't exist anymore)

It is already there...if the integration is well done and makes sense, I am not opposed... Once Norway became Frozen-land, I think it is the only way to keep World Showcase fresh and relevant....Since they are not going to do any updates other than a new dessert unless it has an IP tie-in... Cos would be perfect for Mexico...Poppins is perfect for the UK pavilion(which has never offered more than a pub and shops)... Not so sure about Aladdin in Morocco...since Morocco is in Africa and not the Middle East, but why not add attractions to these wWorld Showcase pavilions... If IP is the only way it is ever going to happen....

Yeah, I want the pavilions to be distinct, and then they tack on a ride, I don't want a full pavilion takeover. Norway style.

Although I do think things do vary wildly. Mary Poppins would fit quite well in the UK, while I feel Tangled is a lesser fit.

At this point, I don't really care, though. I just want good rides that don't replace anything, and Frozen: Ever After and 3 Caballeros are pretty mid replacements.

Amen.

You think Josh reads https://forums.wdwmagic.com/ ??
I don't know if he personally but a lot of people in the company do.

Disney does realize this, they're literally admitting they have a capacity problem.

I don't think the loss in capacity from what they're replacing this time is remotely as big of a deal as the past decade's round.

Muppets Courtyard and Dinoland and The River were all so underutilized that just redoing them will in fact increase capacity since it'll spread people out, but the next phase, outside of like maybe the Indiana Jones show or the Speedway closing, Stitch replacement, I'd say it needs to be full-on expansion like Ratatouille/TRON.

So, for AK, does that mean we get a Lion King flume ride? a Pandora rollercoaster? A Jungle Book ride South of Everest?

They have a ton of options, and barring a catastrophe, I see no reason why they wouldn't, the ROI is there if you add a major new ride every 3ish years. Just always have a project under way, IMO.

This fits too perfectly into AK and that is why Josh will never green light it.

Oh boy, now I will have a couple decades to blame Josh for stuff instead of........ What's his name again? That failed weatherman?

;)
I mean, it probably is one the table, I’m sure they have it as a blue sky plan, same with an Avatar ride.

Doesn’t mean they’re going to do it, I mean there could be a smash hit movie and they then choose to use a completely different concept like what happened with Encanto, but Disney clearly doesn’t just care about BO, Tropical Americas combined: with Dial of Destiny and Encanto flopping in theaters literally is case in point. They’re just going for pure longevity/popularity and attractions that fit spaces now. It’s why Cars, another mega franchise despite low grosses is getting two rides at MK and not say Aladdin despite its remake making $1B (though they still should), next phase.

would genuinely

I agree. The IP doesn’t belong there
The issue in the table is: it’s about ROI, they’re never going to do a Reine River Cruise when they have Tangled that will go viral on Instagram.

So, genuine question, do you want EPCOT to remain in its current state in the year 2046?

What should the next 20 years of expansions look like, knowing Disney has no desire to do an attraction that wouldn’t be as popular? Because I’d rather have Crush’s Coaster, a Hercules ride, a Mary Poppins Ride, an Aladdin ride, a Inside Out/Walle/wreckit-ralph redo of Wonders of Life, a redone Figment ride.

I think Figment actually could have a pretty solid ROI. I should try to figure out if it actually does in a way Walle would.

I think that is pretty reasonable.

I think there is also a possibility that they could create a great attraction without it being based on a movie... a great attraction is a great attraction.... There is the possibility of amazing design without IP.... Figment is an IP based in Epcot that they are ignoring for some reason...and it could be incredibly viable....
An great ride attached to any of the pavilions would be popular IP or not as long as it is a great ride... I can certainly imagine an EPCOT with all new attractions based on the pavilions and what they represent without IP... EPCOT attractions were popular and packed for decades without the Disney Princesses...

No I want Epcot to change.

My opinion is that Disney would better serve the original purpose of World Showcase by adding imaginative attractions and entertainment not based on IP.

An excellent attraction will be popular with guests regardless of IP.

I agree but that’s not happening, so.

What do you suggest given this becuase it really is an either or.

I’ve yet to hear what people would do.

I’m pretty much with you - the Norwegian ship has sailed.

If we are going to have IP in Epcot let’s do it. Poppins in the UK for sure. Add coco if it fits.

If Alladin can have meet and greets in Morocco not sure why a flying carpet ride could be there.

Ideally….. any new rides would at least try to be a tour of the area - and not just a recap of a movie. Like a rhine River cruise with a side story?
