This was what is needed and I was really disappointed this was one of the Covid cuts. A stage show/people eater not in the hub is desperately needed in MK.oh goody! we need 9K more people in the MK.... so then I guess we will enact the Bathroom Fast Pass and even the most trivial of attractions can be a lightning lane... Time to bring back the Main Street Cinema... they could probably charge for that now....
I totally agree...instead of this gigantic construction project I would have rather seen Cars going into the Studios park, and for them to do a great rebirth of Tomorrowland with a couple attractions......adding some new attractions to EPCOT World Showcase (than was designed to handle larger crowds ) and redoing the core would be great too....Can the monorail and ferries handle that many more people?
The hub during fireworks?
The dearth of restaurants?
Infrastructure is a limiting factor. This is why I keep saying (among other reasons) Disney needs to put at least three more rides in the "other three" parks before adding "capacity" to MK.

I don’t honestly think Cars and Villians will bring that many more people to MK on a regular basis. Can the monorail and ferries handle that many more people?
Even just ride capacity. Can the monorail and ferries handle that many more people?

I agree. Today's Disney is focused on per capita spending, not attendance.I don’t honestly think Cars and Villians will bring that many more people to MK on a regular basis.
There is no real restriction on AP’s at WDW. Even if reservations are full anyone can get in after 2:00.This is clearly seen by the restrictions on APs,
In terms of MK there are restrictions. Anyone can get into AKThere is no real restriction on AP’s at WDW. Even if reservations are full anyone can get in after 2:00.
And if reservations are full at one park - you can get into another.

“Capacity”. Do we not want added capacity?oh goody! we need 9K more people in the MK.... so then I guess we will enact the Bathroom Fast Pass and even the most trivial of attractions can be a lightning lane... Time to bring back the Main Street Cinema... they could probably charge for that now....
Has the actual permit been posted anywhere? I’d be really curious to see exactly what is stated.Even just ride capacity.
If rumors are right, you’ve got a Shanghai pirates style ride (3,000 people per hour), a slinky dog style coaster (1,400), and a spinner flat ride (550) for villains, and another flat ride (600), and whatever the rally race ride is (using test track as a comparison — 1200)
You’re at an additional ride capacity of around 6,700. Maybe capacity in the coaster or cars ride is a little bit higher, so let’s say 7,000.
If my math is right, that’s about .77 rides per hour per guest. Or looking at it the other way, they’re adding capacity for each new guest to ride one of the new rides every hour and 15 minutes or so.
I’d be curious to see how that compares to the current ratio, whether it’s increasing or decreasing the total number of rides per hour per guest across the park as a whole

Yes but not in the death by a thousand paper cuts manner Disney has been content with in recent years. And it doesn’t necessarily have to be from the ground up capacity. The spaces at SGE and MST are sitting empty. And as Penguin pointed out, they need to get some people out of MK and into the other parks. Spread em out“Capacity”. Do we not want added capacity?
Thank you. So that number is a daily average (ADF = Average Daily Flow). When people speak of the capacity of facilities they tend to think of an instantaneous capacity, how many people can fit at a given moment. But thats not the case with theme parks where visitors come and go, so to say this is project is increasing capacity by 9,000 people is not quite accurate. This area is designed to handle approximately 9,000 people over the course of a day.
