I think the one thing we need to look for as more details emerge is where they may place an alternative show/fireworks viewing area in the land.

there are so few details emerging at this point, I would be surprised if they will actually even talk about that at this point...When we still have no definite idea of what the land will actually have in it....and what it will look like... The less they release, the easier to backtrack when the budget cuts start...lol But evidently there will be room for 9 thousand more people.....

I don’t think people here are appreciating just how good of a ride system the Shanghai Pirates boat ride has. For one, it has a massive capacity. That means that the magic Kingdom, if this ride system is used, will have a brand new mega E ticket with an operational capacity of over 3000 guests per hour. Each one of those boats in Shanghai carries 30 guests!
It really is.

3000+ an hour and legitimately bigger scaled than Rise, like significantly.

If it has pre-shows, holy.

Shanghai Pirates is amazing... One of the best rides I have ever been on... A good mix of screens, projection mapping physical effects and audio animatronics... It would certainly be a great ride system for an MK ride... How big id the Shanghai show building in comparison to what they are building in the MK?
I just wish it wasn't based on the damn movie franchise.

Agreed!! But using Villains this could be interesting....a sort of "Villains Unchained : The Malefecint Experiment" attraction... Maybe Tiana will have come up with a way to control the villains that she discovered while making hot sauce in her foods factory....and is showing us the technology when something goes wrong.....

I'll just echo the comments above: the Shanghai system is fantastic, both from an operational standpoint (massive capacity) and flexibility to create great visuals/ experience and even a heightened sense of falling/ rising. My only mild concern is whether a boat ride works in the particular context of Malefecint, but I'm sure decent creativity could get the settings right.

As a side note, if Universal uses a similar system for the rumored Creature of the Black Lagoon ride, then look out -- that IP and the potential settings of a boggy, mist-filled swampy, dark and mysterious area could be absolutely fantastic.

My rough Shanghai Pirates show building size (based on Google) is about 82K sq ft (not including queue). The current permits show a building roughly this size for Villians land, so it's not out of the question.

I don't think that's right? Isn't the entire building almost 150,000 sq. ft.? The queue doesn't take up that proportion?

Apologies, I was slightly off, but only by ~9K sq ft. The entire building is ~170K sq ft:

However, the portion actually occupied by the ride is only about 91K sq ft (counting void space within the ride layout):

Having been on it, it’s hard to argue any ride is better than Shanghai Pirates. Like don’t get me wrong I love Mystic Manor or Monsters Unchained just as much, but the scale of it, it’s something else, and it feels like Frozen Journey where the boat is like the “camera.”

It has this cinematography feel, and pretty much every screen except for the finale one is utterly flawless.

I am partial to Monsters though, I probably enjoy it and Indiana Jones Adventure the most.
