DHS Disney Confirms Muppets Take Over Rock 'n' Roller Coaster at Hollywood Studios

Honestly wouldn't shock me. You have to think that the biggest changes are the preshow, which they have already been working on. Really the actual ride probably has few if any changes aside from new audio (which again, they could already have been working on).

It seems to me like there’s very little they’re changing.

Paint the guitar outside a psychedelic color, along with the car.

Then they basically flipped the preshow so the part that’s real will be inside the booth while the band will appear on the screen in the “live room,” instead of the other way around. Add some screens for ms. Piggy and Kermit and a Scooter animatronic and a few penguin animatronics.

In fact I bet the only thing that will take awhile will be the load area because I have my doubts they do almost anything with the track. So what do you think? If it’s mostly just the load area and courtyard? I bet it could be open by July 4th.

Of course it was fast. Disney fans are not used to this because Disney uses very few outside licensed properties. At least not now that they bought out Lucasfilms and Fox. License contracts have firm end dates. And when that date hits all references to the IP come down all at once. Typically overnight. It's just how licensing works. How the wind down works is typically written into the contract.

They’re just doing this as quickly as possible. They know the park needs the capacity ASAP.

Unless there is a lot more work involved then we've heard, it doesn't seem like 3 months is unreasonable. At least that's my hope since we have a trip in mid June.
I am also there mid-June and hoping to ride. I've never loved RnRC - it's too short with boring theming for my tastes. But I am hoping for a much more fun pre-show with the Muppets and maybe some humor added to the ride to make it more exciting.

If not, I'll grab some pennies. I assume they're focusing on the non-Mayhem characters because Muppet*Vision 3D has closed and those muppets are working on this while the band members rehearse. I think it's a cute story element connecting the two rides (perhaps a bit of reach).

I always thought about how cool it would be to have the Pizza Rizzo sign put in the ride, but then another thought crossed my mind... Is it possible that sign wouldn't be "safe" to use indoors because of so much weather damage/possible mildew/other various things that could be caused from being outside during many different types of climates and wet atmospheres/humidity etc..?

I'm not sure if that would effect anything?
Well, they could just make a new sign. Even if it wasn't the actual Pizza Rizzo sign previously used in the park, it'd be a nice reference...

Heck, they could at least have a pizza box with the PizzeRizzo logo on it somewhere.

Just saw this on twitter.. I need them all!
Apparently located by rock n roller coaster by the face painting

Am I about to pay a scalper an exorbitant amount of money (relative to what they are worth) for these in the near future?

Yes. Yes I am.

People thinking they need pressed pennies… that will cost dollars.

Speechless GIF by MOODMAN

Of course I don't need it. But I've been so starved for anything Bean Bunny-related in-park for so long before these and the recently released pin set that I absolutely do not mind. The price will come down as more people try to turn a profit on 'em, they aren't exactly hard to get for folks over there.

Wherever that price ends up settling will certainly be cheaper than me planning a trip to Florida between now and summer.

I wonder what kept them from adding 'Future home of Monstropolis' over at the former courtyard. They did it at AK for Tropical
I think they'll wait for Muppets/Animation to open and then Monstropolis will be next major opening and they'll add it to that revision. Or maybe they wait for next year since it's over 2 years away right now.
