Teach them a lesson and be in the apartment in the natural wayAfter working 12 hours (plus an hour of commutes), I get home with a note in my apartment door saying they are wiring for an internet service over the next three days, and they will need access to my apartment all day each day. They want me to move my furniture off the wall. Um, no. I've been gone for 13 hours and am exhausted, and you gave me less than 24 hours notice for three days worth of disruption. Also, I took Friday off to just have a quiet, relaxing day after a long week. Now I might have people in my apartment and not be able to use my living room.
Yeah, that's not what I wanted to hear after conference day #1.
Update: My shoes have arrived. I like the one pair that I had already purchased through Amazon and will be keeping them. I did not like one pair and will be returning them. I like the third pair, but don't know if I love them. I looked at some other pairs tonight and have ordered another pair. Once I get those, I will decide which I want to keep. I have a feeling I'll like the new pair better, which would be cool because they're cheaper.
Do I have hundreds of dollars worth of shoes circulating right now? Yes. Some I shipped back today and have been issued refunds for. Some are sitting on my kitchen table. Some should arrive by Thursday. I also like to complicate things, so that's on me.

I took today off, just because. I haven't taken a single day for myself this entire year, and I needed one. I ended up going up to my brother's house with my parents to see my niece. We stayed for about 4 hours. Had lunch, got some snuggles, chatted, then headed home. It was very lowkey, but it was much needed. I didn't think about school at all while I was there.

Glad to hear yours went well. Mine did too, but like you said... long nights. My final conference last night are friends of mine, so we went out for Mexican afterwards, knowing that I had today off. So ending with Mexican food and a margarita was a nice touch.

I also think it's hard to find comfortable shoes. There's a few brands I sorta like; but even within the same brand, there are differences in fit, so it's not a slam dunk. Plus, I'm not the same size in each brand. If the shoe companies supposedly all use the same sizing charts, then why do they all fit differently?!

Got a phone call from one of the high up bosses yesterday - Mike and I are getting transferred to a new site … sort of.
We are almost sold out, outperforming everyone’s wildest expectations, so they want to see if we can work our magic at one of the most stagnated sites. No pressure, right?
We’ll be working both sites simultaneously. A few days at each site alternately. My first day at the new office is Monday.
Hopefully we can deliver! Equal measures of hard work and good fortune are required.
