DHS Toy Story Land expansion announced for Disney's Hollywood Studios

The new, unshaded tables and benches are a missed opportunity to include Star Wars toys as part of a thematic transition.

Finish the back side of the AT-AT prop from Star Tours, paint it to look like a toy on the TS side and more realistic on the SGW side. Plenty of shade underneath, and water cannons!
Thankfully there are professionals at work on this as opposed to us armchair imagineers.

The new tables and sitting area is generally shaded all day long.

They're right up against to the trees to the south of the area. And the sun, slanting in from the south, is blocked by those trees.

I tried to illustrate these facts, but dark cloud posters will not let facts knock them off their soap box.

I was led to believe the area was deliberately placed beneath Sid’s magnifying glass

The lack of at least one new game to coincide with Toy Story 5 boggles my mind.

Maybe we will get an update with Toy Story 8.
It's such a head scratcher. It would be relatively simple to change it. Not to mention that is the perfect ride type to overlay for the holidays. But yeah you think there'd be a synergy play here, if for nothing else.

It will be like Star Tours - how long did that take for the obvious film change? 25 years?

I do remember when Mania opened, they were talking about frequent updates - even down to seasonal changes. The screen based nature of it was being touted as an added benefit for that very reason.

It would have been such an easy win to make small updates to TSM for holidays/seasons. But… here we are. 😞
