Jeff Galloway, Olympian and Pioneer of the Run/Walk Method, Dies at 80

After qualifying for the Olympic Games in the 10,000 meters in 1972, he went on to become an influential running author.

An athlete who has left an indelible mark on American running and the RunDisney community. I’ve had the privilege of being cheering on near the finish line by Jeff for several RunDisney half marathons and saw him at the Marathon Weekend expo. His warmth and positivity will be missed.

This is very sad. Once I got over my stubbornness and gave his methods a try, it became a complete shift in my relationship with running and exercise and has prolonged my ability to not only recreationally run and exercise, but enjoy it.

I will be running my first half marathon this weekend as well. His method is the only way I have been able to run these long distances. What a beautiful gift he gave to the running community.
