Expedition Everest effects status watch

I only glanced through the last few pages, but has no one complained about the handrail always being up now? I think it looks terrible!
I asked a CM about when I first noticed it (at LEAST a year and a half ago…maybe more). He said it was broken in the up position. So was it just never fixed? Or is this something they decided to leave up for some silly “safety” reason?
I’m feeling dumb, but what handrail? Where on the ride?

There was an entire thread complaining about it when it happened in 2022.

On the main lift, the handrail used to be retracted.

I wonder if its been left up lately due to Everest having more downtime than usual, pretty much every time I've checked the app just to browse it's been down.

The handrails would automatically rise when the ride had an e-stop, so it wasn’t like it took any additional time to raise them. And lowering them took maybe 10 seconds at most.

Personally, I wouldn't have given it a second thought. Stairs are already there. Those aren't hidden. Seeing a handrail next to them seems like a normal safety feature to me.
It was nice little touch if you noticed it or not. Plenty of things at WDW you don’t actively notice - but they are good design and enhance the experience.
