Back to Villains Land meanwhile. 😎

We’ve discussed rides and roaming characters, and to a lesser extent food & beverage.

What else do people want? What would help create the ambience of a Villains Land and elevate it above Pandora and Galaxy’s Edge? This has been longed for by fans for so long, how do they live up to that dream?
I think it needs a crooked clock tower with a quarter-hour glockenspiel show with humorous, sinister mechanically animated content and ominous musical organ tones. Guests can gather in the town square as they do at the Marienplatz in Munich.

I believe it’s been mentioned before but I think that getting the area music right is going to be extremely important for getting this area to land right with guests.

Open windows to basements or chambers where we can hear classic characters and see shadowy movement. Toon Town, but with a crumbling medieval town.

And a magic show. Not a magic show performed by Facilier or Madame Mim or Malificient or Yzma, but a fun spooky magic show with a decent magician who can hold an audience. They can still have a "celebrity guest" each shows that varies to bring in the main villain element, but please bring back some quality original entertainment.

I already outlined my thoughts about "broad strokes" stuff I hope to see. Thought of a few random details though (these aren't make or break things for me, just fun to think about):

I feel like the inevitable cute waddley ducks will be a minor break in immersion (I mean minor - there will be toddlers wandering around after all). I think it would be cool to have a sign, maybe in Latin, indicating that tourists should beware of ducks as the villains sometimes turn to duck form.

Instead of hidden Mickeys it would be cool if they had iconic hidden items from the Villains (hook, croc teethmarks, seashell necklace, spinning wheel, etc.) Maybe blast marks on walls from wizard fights, although they already did something kind of similar at Beak and Barrel.

Some kind of story about why there are friendly cast members there and maybe a small symbol on their uniforms that represents that. Maybe they're volunteers from the school of Teaching Villains To Be Good and they're hopeful they'll get the villains to change their ways.

If they wanted something lighter, the villains vacation pictures on the walls of the stores or another building. Hook threatening someone with a croissant in France, the evil queen looking completely nonplussed amidst beach goers.

They learned from Star Wars based on Disneyland thankfully.

I wonder if they’d get a Danny Elfman type to work on organizing it all or new themes.

If they did it for Mystic Manor they could.

Tho Dark Universe was Elfman so maybe not literally him😂

Elfman has enough history with the company and creepy atmosphere that I think they could get away with using him.

If they wanted a well known film composer but wanted to avoid the comparisons that Elfman would bring they’d probably try to get Hans Zimmer. While not necessarily known for the style of music that Elfman does he’s certainly capable of doing it well and also has a long history with the company.

If I recall, someone here seemed to imply that even though we heard about “bigger & bolder” fairly recently, that it actually started sometime late last year. To me that doesn’t seem like waste of millions, but then again I have no inside information, just speaking out loud.
Do we have what is rumored to be built ride and restaurant wise for this land?

Everything is speculation at this point. The only thing that seems likely is some type of coaster, as that is the only thing clearly evident in the concept art, but do not take the concept art as gospel. We’ve been given no definitive plans from TDO. Again, anything mentioned here should be considered speculative and educated guesses.

Len said around December. That’s still months after the project was approved. The type of review and reconsideration he described is the sort of stuff that should have been finished around mid-2024 at the latest.

Have any insiders given any idea what to expect?

Maybe we're all just thinking about this the wrong way. They said Josh wants it bigger and bolder. Maybe he actually meant boulder and he's just really into geology?
