The area is based on the 8 minute short and Olaf has a featured scene. You don’t know that it would be more entertaining as the area isn’t open yet. Also this is a new animatronic. Why does everything have to be confined to what was in this 5 minute short? Goofy has drawn in the past. They could’ve framed it as a “How To” class like the old Goofy cartoons. Would have been infinitely more entertaining and we would’ve gotten a new animatronic.
Have you ever seen YouTube drawing videos?Anything about an age range? My kindergartner can draw about as well as I can (I always think it’s funny how drawing ability, without specific training, plateaus around age 6, unlike most other skills where adults are significantly more skilled than children) but not sure how complex the directions will be.
Yeah, just checked the updated Parks Blog and we have the full lineup now for the characters in "Off the Page!"
All together we have "Off the Page!" (Meet and Greet), "Olaf Draws!" (Animation Academy), Once Upon a Studio Theater (Showing the Short), Enchanted Art Gallery (artwork that comes to life) and "Drawn to Wonderland" (Alice playground)
- Mulan in Story
- Rapunzel in Layout
- Chip n’ Dale in Hand-Drawn Animation
- Donald and Daisy in CG Animation
- Goofy in Lighting
- Stitch in Effects
Not to mention of course that Goofy meets inside of the building so i'm sure Disney doesn't want you to meet Goofy and then instantly see him in an animatronic straight away as a kid who just came out of the meet and greet. The area is based on the 8 minute short and Olaf has a featured scene. Yes, he’s done those before so if it’s at that level it would work!Have you ever seen YouTube drawing videos?
Step by step instructions, one sketch line at a time. We use them at school with younger ones (4-8 ish) and they love it. Admittedly we can pause and let them catch up, but it’s still squarely aimed at that age group.
My guess is it’ll be similar.
Based on how its set up, I'm hoping they can occasionally switch them out for the more rare characters. This is the only miss I see here. 8 characters that you can meet in other areas. They had the opportunity to build some unique and complex meet and greets, like Ernesto de la Cruz at Oogie Boogie, or at least give us a character you can't meet currently (HERCULES!). There were so many rare characters that don't have any meet and greet options on that poster, it's a shame not one of them came true. I'd even take a Tiana m+g in her gorgeously underrated blue gown from the poster. Sure this is a positive, that might shake up m+g's around the parks, but I can't help be a bit disappointed. At least Mulan gets more of a regular meet and greet, and I would imagine this will make her spotty m+g in Epcot a bit more consistent as well.
Excited for the Olaf animatronic, my niece is going to love it!
It'd work the exact same way as any other character who meets/roams near their attraction. The kids would see the one they can meet/hug as the real one.Not to mention of course that Goofy meets inside of the building so i'm sure Disney doesn't want you to meet Goofy and then instantly see him in an animatronic straight away as a kid who just came out of the meet and greet.
Mulan also meets regularly on Main Street. This is the only miss I see here. 8 characters that you can meet in other areas. yes but those characters have costumes based directly on the animatronic and I believe roaming M&Gs are treated a little differently. It'd work the exact same way as any other character who meets/roams near their attraction. The kids would see the one they can meet/hug as the real one.

Launch Bays meet n greets have moved to other parts of the park so you're just adding really. BB-8 is the only one not relocated yet.Mulan also meets regularly on Main Street.
Launch Bay had more unique meet n greets.
Absolutely stupid that half of the character experiences for this is wasted on characters who already make appearances at this park…, unbelievable (I know WDAS created these characters for their short cartoons and yes they would benefit from being indoors so their appearances wouldn’t be cancelled due to rain and lightning), I hope it’s not too late for them to change their minds by bringing in Hercules or Tinker Bell (since she doesn’t have a meetable spot at WDW since March 2020) at the last minute and have Chip n Dale roam around the newly reimagined green space near the experience (forget it they won’t), but they need to stop penny pitching their budget on entertainment (even though Disney Animation’s recent movie (Zootopia 2) was a massive box office success and will bring in the big profits)Yeah, just checked the updated Parks Blog and we have the full lineup now for the characters in "Off the Page!"

Actually a good point with Cool Kid Summer. Maybe having these areas filled in give room for the rare characters taking up the old outside spots while not being as "risky" as giving them a dedicated permanent space... I would hope. Some of the characters do makes sense now here. The only character on that list with a permanent meet and greet location is Mulan in China. Stitch and Rapunzel whilst often seen inside of MK, Rapunzel is a "visiting" princess so not always a guarantee and Stitch doesn't have a dedicated space for him in Tomorrowland. Goofy, Donald, Daisy and Chip 'n' Dale don't have official meeting spaces indoors at HS, and if they move indoors they can have slightly longer time between breaks and I'm guessing they're desperate to move the meet and greets from Echo Lake and Grand Avenue for Cool Kid Summer again (where more "rare" characters like Phineas and Ferb etc could be found last time)
If you want more positivity I’d suggest concentrating on the Animal Kingdom changes. This is a particularly underwhelming band-aid of a project in an area that desperately needs a full redevelopment. These boards are exhausting…
But given the target audience for the animation, the majority of the characters are going to be popular ones that children will instantly recognise. This is the only miss I see here. 8 characters that you can meet in other areas. Or another way to look at it: when most fans claim all four WDW parks are becoming the same, this change is revisiting the roots of DHS with a celebrated return of animation classes, something that has been sorely missed since its absence (AK was always an odd location). It adds meet and greets and a play area for a VASTLY underserved demographic for DHS- young kids who cannot ride most of the E-tickets. It also will be an experience without insane lines or strict showtimes (yes the animation classes will). These all help build out the park much more than another E-ticket would. Does DHS need more? Yes, of course. But this is a positive step in the right direction. Everyone bemoans that DHS has too many e-tickets and not enough balance and then they complain when they build an experience like this.If you want more positivity I’d suggest concentrating on the Animal Kingdom changes. This is a particularly underwhelming band-aid of a project in an area that desperately needs a full redevelopment.
It literally is getting a full redevelopment. You just don’t like what it is. This will be a much better offer g than what was previously there. All welcome additions to the park!If you want more positivity I’d suggest concentrating on the Animal Kingdom changes. This is a particularly underwhelming band-aid of a project in an area that desperately needs a full redevelopment.
