Surprised nobody has started discussing the most insane College Football story in a long time, the saga of Sherrone Moore. Honestly went from hilarious to extremely sad really quick. But, the more that comes out, the more I'm convinced the real villains should be the University of Michigan. So far, it looks like they intentionally did not release this til after signing day so that their players were locked in which is beyond scummy, and then they are saying the AD was warned Moore was having a mental breakdown, so he called him in with no help/anything and fired him. I have a kid eyeing being a doctor right now, and I can promise you she will not even be visiting UM. Not that sports are everything (or even anything coming from someone who went to a school with no football program), but I've never trusted a school less than I trust UM.

The stupid part was as long as they Both had 2 losses…Miami should never have been “ranked” behind Notre dame with a head to head.

Period.
Full stop
End of story

The rankings are stupid and always has been. They do it to try to generate buzz/money…but what would be best is just release the Bracket with nothing official prior…that way the bubble teams and up and comers have to sweat it. Period…full stop.

Under that system…Alabama would never have gotten in.

And since this seems jaded: my team was the biggest disaster in all of college football this year…spectacular fall…so I can be objective on this.
Notre Dame…not only did they lose head to head to Miami, but also their other loss was just bounced by Miami as well…

The New 12 Team Format allowed arguments for any of the 3, while Indiana choose the wrong year to be a clear #1. If the format was still 4 Teams, they’d only have Texas Tech and the winner of OSU/Georgia in their way to a Title….the current (soon to have 2-4 more Teams added) gives them an extra game against cream puff non deserving Alabama

Wait a second: You are planning your daughter's life and med school based on a football team?

Full disclosure... as the nom de guerre suggests; I am an alumus. Yes, the University has embarrassed alumni by its actions on the football gridiron. Yes the University itself has had scandals.... yet it is like every top 100 university in the US. It is a big business and big businesses are full of people who are not always doing things that are in the best interest of their employer.

Having said that; your daughter would be walking away from the 20th ranked Medical school in the World--- not the country---the entire planet. (according to US News and World Report). If she's of that high level ability to be admitted; she can most likely go anywhere. However, if she's one the those who barely get in, and not admitted to Harvard/John Hopkins etc as well---she would be insane to turn it down. The University has over 650,000 living alumni and has an amazing alumni network that can help your daughter go anywhere with any form of research/practice she may wish. I would urge you to at least reconsider.... unless she's a buckeye. In which case ;thanks yet no. (Seriously though, I wish her the best...Good luck to her and may she change the world as she grows in her practice...)

Holy crap…I’m not even sure Michigan has been in the top of scandal schools in their conference in recent years

And I didn’t go there…I went to one of the OTHERS in the rogues gallery…but I gotta be honest here

12 Team CFP Format has seen no Team with a 1st Round bye win a game….those Teams were 0-4 last year and 0-1 so far this year

More remarkable and yet to be mentioned by any of the gurus…..ZERO, NOTTA, not even One Conference Champion has won a game yet… Last year 0-5 with Clemson, Georgia, Oregon, Arizona State and Boise all losing their first game; this year both James Madison and Tulane lose….

Conference Champions are 0-7…..

Three more chances tomorrow

Conference Champs are now 0-8 with Indiana and Georgia to go

Are the Conference Championship Games going away or not? There had been talk BEFORE the Playoffs; why no mention now? Money in the way?

And Down goes Georgia....Only WIndiana beats the Conference Championship/ Bye is the problem curse. Who'd have thought it? I'm hoping for a NCG Indiana v. Ole Miss....

ESPN would cry in it's many (MANY!) ads due to no "brand names" in the NCG.

Indiana has the best coach in football and it's not particularly close. I wonder how much of the issue is the bye week. One team coming off a month without meaningful games against a team who played an elite game the week before. Miami looked much better this week than their first week. Oregon looked even better. The first round bye teams don't have that game to get going.

If the CFP expansion was an attempt for parity, if has finally materialized......None of the Contemporary big boys are here

Bit surprised Indiana peeps haven't materialized yet as I've seen a Bama (after beating Okies) and now Michigan nom de guerres in the house......

The Secondary tier has only Oregon....Miami back? Maybe.....and poor ole Kirby

The Transfer Portal makes it near impossible for a Michigan type team loaded with Seniors that had been there their entire 4 years.....back in the day those Underclassmen proceeded through the ranks in to solid starters, with the roster being supplemented with incoming Freshman through recruiting.

Recruiting used to be in High Schools.....

I'd agree with Indiana and it's no nonsense coach.....

There is something to the time off and its play in this. We have another Final 4 with 3 Teams that didn't even play in their respective Conference Championships.....

It's amazing that Bama was the 1st Team that played in their Conference Championship (Win or Lose) that was able to win a CFP Game against a Team that DIDN'T play in their Conference Championship...

The Only teams that played in a Conference Championship and win a CFP Game in the 12 Team format:

2024
Penn State - beat SMU who also played in Conference Championship
Texas - Beat Clemson
Penn State - Beat Boise (2nd Round)

2025
Bama - Beat Okie...only Team to team play in a Conference Championship to beat a that didn't
Indiana - spanked Bama....becoming the ONLY bye and Conference Champion to Win a Game

Don't know why it matters, but here is the easily googled page. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_University_of_Wisconsin–River_Falls_alumni

Daniel Brandenstein is probably the most famous.
It really didn’t…I was just curious as I’d never heard of River Falls and had been to Madison, Milwaukee, Janesville, Wisconsin Whitewater, etc….seen those areas during trips to the Southside of Chicago once a year

We take in the Annual Mexican Heritage night at GRF; the Southside goes crazy that night as it’s been on a Friday for the past few years…it’s easy to make it a long weekend and hit surrounding areas Saturday/Sunday

In ‘24 took in the Bama game , Brewers the day after last year….

We are hoping to take in a game in Wrigley at some point….nothing like Live sports of any type
