Man, this has been an absolute disaster for the NHL. You have 3 star players for playoff-competing teams get injured (one for the season, two we don't really know), and the talk of the tourney is how awful the refs have been, which I believe always have at least one NHL ref.

Too bad Disney did not capitalize and have someone from marketing get the U.S. hockey teams to say "we are going to Disney World" after their wins and have it on tape. Would have been better than the Super Bowl spot.

Not that I'm drawing just from this game or tourney, but that should open a lot of eyes on Makar. That guy is bottom 15 in the NHL in his own zone. And his lack of effort to get back in the defensive zone is shocking. Other wild stat, Mackinon is the only player on Canada to be a minus for the tourney. McDavid winning the MVP is a joke as well. I get the voting occurs in the first period (which is just ludicrous in and of itself), but it's not like this is the only game Helleybuck showed up in. He had like 1.18 GAA and 0.958 save percentage for the tourney.

Last quick take from me, Binnington proved Cooper correct. That guy was extremely good as well, he was just let down by his forwards and Helleybuck being other-worldly.

She needs to retire. What she did was remarkable, making it back to the games after what she'd been through prior. Taking the chance that she did despite the disappointing outcome, people will remember her bravery for picking back up and trying again in these games. But it's not worth her limbs taking any more damage.

I’ll say this….Matthew Schaefer would of busted his butt to get back down the ice and cover Hughes

Codi Ceci would have gotten closer to that play than Makar did. It was an absolute embarrassment. And many aren't even looking at the first goal that was scored where he did the EXACT same thing. Makar got burned making a horrible read and he never picked a skate up off the ice after it happened. If Kucherov was disqualified from the Hart for not trying in the All Star game (which multiple voters stated, and ACTED on), they better not have Makar in their top 5 based only on this performance.
