I don't watch hockey, but apparently, it was a very good game with two excellent teams. Also heard on the news that the last time the U.S. won that Olympic hockey game, was back in 1984.

@JenniferS , I thought of you when I heard that Canada lost. :(
It was 46 years ago to the day that the "Miracle on Ice" happened when we beat the Soviet Union for gold. 1980.

^I am not some expert. I learned all of this today, just like the rest of the country. 😂

It's zeppole season so trying to find a good bakery near me and nothing. Well, if I wanted to travel for it (more than 5 miles) but still. Horrible. Supermarkets would be the very last option. Even when I was in Boston, a good bakery was hard to come by. Well, Eataly but didn't feel like going broke.

I feel like I've posted about this before, and I'm having deja vu.

I am once again on the hunt for a new pair of shoes. I typically only wear one pair at a time and wear them daily until they get old and gross. I would say I average about a year with one pair before they get replaced. Well, I ordered a pair from Amazon the other day, and I liked them, but they aren't a totally neutral "everyday" color. Part of the reason I like them is they're my school colors, so I could wear them to work. So I ended up looking for a second pair and happened to find the exact same pair on Nike.com, but this time with a discount code. So I'm going to save about $15 by returning the first pair to Amazon and ordering them from Nike. I also have a second pair of Nikes coming, as well as a pair from Under Armour. I won't keep all of them, but I figured I'd order them all at once to avoid a month-long process of ordering and returning shoes. I'm hoping to have them broken in by the time we go to Disneyland in a month.

They're really easy to make, I'm not sure why more places don't sell them

When I find a pair I like at least one backup pair goes in my closet. I may have over 10 pairs of Crocks flip flops:angelic:

I like to switch up the style each time. I used to be strictly Nike, but I tried Under Armour once and haven't gotten a pair of Nikes until this time. I also noticed once I switched to Under Armour that I stopped getting blisters at Disney, and my feet have not ached after a park day.

It's about to be the longest week of the year. Also known as "conference week". On top of my normal exhausting work of wrangling tiny humans, I get to work two 12-hour days on top of it. I actually took Friday off this week just because. I have only taken off a full day once this year, and it was the second week of school. I was trying to find a Friday in February that would make sense to take off, and the day after conferences made too much sense.

I have conferences two nights this week too, Monday and Thursday. Friday we have professional development but I have Wednesday off due to an appointment. I hate conferences week. In the fall I had about 8 conferences between the two nights. I suspect that many or less this week.

We are Tuesday and Thursday night until 7:30. So our hours are 7:30am to 7:30pm. It makes for very long days, which makes for very long weeks. I haven't looked since Friday, but my conferences are pretty well spread out between the two nights. Tuesday being a little heavier. That beats the fall, where I was done by 5:30 on Tuesday and then was fully booked on Thursday.

I have to go in and look to see if the last few have signed up yet. Last week we were supposed to give a phone call to those who didn't sign up and be prepared to have our conference over the phone at that time. I did not do that because I'm still not prepared for conferences due to the amount of meetings they have been scheduling for me. I have literally had no extra time during the few preps I have had, and many nights I get home and immediately start working again so I'm prepared to teach the next day.
