MK All-New Nighttime Parade Disney Starlight Set to Debut at Magic Kingdom in 2025

Finally saw Starlight last week.

My take is probably “chalk”. Impressive - beautiful floats and great soundtrack. For me, it gets me into feels very much. They could use more performers in between floats and felt a tad short overall.

Paint the Night remains my favorite nighttime parade, I’d say it’s more fun overall and just so much more is happening

But Starlight has better “bones” for a castle park honestly.

I’ve heard enough. Paint the Night supremacy confirmed!

HS is the park that deserves a Paint the Night-type parade, the party atmosphere would be much more at home there

Agreed Starlight has a grandeur component that castle park parades need to have (spectromagic vibes)

If it follows the same trend as the other parades it'll last until MK doesn't want to spend money on it anymore, or until they run it into the ground. Since the 2000s MK has only had 2 daily-daytime-parades? And if it follows the current trend of anniversaries it'll be nothing. The 50th was the last big anniversary for MK and WDW and we all know how that went. Even at DL their last big anniversary is debatable between the 50th and 60th.

MK ran Share a Dream for 13 years and rebranded it twice over that span. Aside from when it opened in 2001, almost nothing new was made for it, it only got things removed or leftovers added from older parades. FoF is being ran into the ground and approaching a rough 12 years, and in my opinion the only reason this parade hasn't seen a rebrand is because of how inflexible the theme is.

Then Spectro lasted 19 years before meeting its fate where it then took 14 years before a replacement was announced. Even now, Starlight being good or bad is debatable, but it's obvious in the quality of the floats and costumes that the proper budget for it was disregarded.

Now with MSEP being older I'm not sure if I trust them doing a coast to coast transfer, especially when we've seen that quality and maintenance has gone down. Plus them using MSEP as a "band-aid" for nighttime entertainment at MK is the last thing needed. Especially with all the advancements they could be doing.

Maybe Starlight will get updates over time but who knows when. Maybe if operations suddenly has a change of heart or starts giving the proper attention to entertainment as a whole.
I don't really understand the Starlight hate. My only real problem with it is that it's a little bit short but other than that I really like it.

Is there a reason there's no Starlight dates 2+ weeks out on the calendar? Or do they only populate that far in advance and I'm just ignorant of how they handle the calendar

It seems like after Disney confirms the final park hours (generally a couple of weeks in advance), then the Starlight schedule comes out. If MK closes at 9 pm, there will only be one parade.

It's not hate. This parade, whether you like it or not, is clearly lacking in several components.

Is it enjoyable? Yes. But that doesn't immediately make it some success. It's not to say that every other night parade before or currently is better, however, it is clear that there was some type of restraint ($$$) that held this parade back from what it could've been. You see this with the costumes, the framework of the floats, and the overall size.

In an update to the entertainment calendar, Disney Starlight shifts to a new schedule starting March 8:

March 8, 9, 10, 11 : 8:15pm
March 13, 14, 15: 8:15pm, 10:30pm
March 8 is the start of Daylight Savings Time so the shift to later hours is due to that.
