Ideally, California Adventure should be about California.
We had that with DCA 1.0...
Josh only has to fix and retheme Hollywood and Pixar Pier and DCA will be in another class.

That day passed long ago, the company has decided that is no longer the "theme" of the Park. And every new addition cements that. So I don't ever see it going back to that no matter who is the CEO.Ideally, California Adventure should be about California.
We'll see how Ice Age: Boiling Point does in theaters in Feb 2027.If it HAS to be a purchased ip, I wish they just did Ice Age and tied it in to the La Brea tar pits.
I'm going to call it right now: When Avatar debuts, DCA will get yet another rebrand. That day passed long ago, the company has decided that is no longer the "theme" of the Park. And every new addition cements that. So I don't ever see it going back to that no matter who is the CEO.
Please not Disney Adventure World.I'm going to call it right now: When Avatar debuts, DCA will get yet another rebrand.
That name is taken already, so I think you’re safePlease not Disney Adventure World.
No!

I have a wishful thinking Avatar will go away. I think it one of the worst move to place in DCA. I want to see original ideas not tied so much into Disney intellectual properties.
I put this in the same category as opposition to radiator springs. It’s going to be gorgeous. It’s going to be one of the best rides at the resort.
Something might be a “better fit” in theory, but almost assuredly it won’t be a better final product.

DCA 1.0 is better than what we have now.We had that with DCA 1.0...

Hence why I said ideally. That day passed long ago, the company has decided that is no longer the "theme" of the Park. And every new addition cements that. So I don't ever see it going back to that no matter who is the CEO.
I mean in that case it’d be no different than “Disneyland”, with multiple Parks using the name.I am not convinced that the ultimate goal isn't to make Disney Adventure World a franchise in and of itself. DCA and to a lesser degree DHS being rebranded in such a way still seems very much like a modern Disney thing to do.
No offense but you were barely alive to even experience it before they started changing. So you can defend that all you want, but the majority that actually went disagree with you.DCA 1.0 is better than what we have now.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, as a native Californian of 50ish years a theme park about California will always pale in comparison to the real thing. Why visit a Disney version of the Golden Gate Bridge (and pay Disney prices) when you can visit the real thing for free a few hours away from said Park, or any number of real life places that Disney tried to add.Hence why I said ideally.
I’ll forever defend the idea of a California themed park. It is the most beautiful and diverse state with a rich history and mythos to draw from. Disney made a huge mistake moving away from the California theme when they closed Tower of Terror and the park has only gotten worse as a result.
Or if we get Disney California Adventure... WorldI mean in that case it’d be no different than “Disneyland”, with multiple Parks using the name.
Well if they start calling it Disney Adventure World Paris then maybe we have something to worry about, but until then I think it’s a bit premature to start to worry.
That is why I’ve always like the play on Cinematic, especially for a “Studios Park”. So Disney Cinematic Adventure, still keeps the DCA “brand”.Or if we get Disney California Adventure... World.
I think DCA as an acronym has become more of a name that Disney California Adventure for many people, so as long as it keeps those initials most won't notice

I very much remember DCA 1.0. As terrible as it was, it had more soul, more potential than the park's current state and trajectory. Give me the Sun Wheel and the Orange Stinker over Pixar Pier anyday. No offense but you were barely alive to even experience it before they started changing. So you can defend that all you want, but the majority that actually went disagree with you.
Now if you said the Initial DCA2.0 in 2012-2017 was better than maybe you’d get more to agree with you.

Anyways that day is now gone and we’re onto DCA the IP World, so let’s get back to talking about Avatar.

Right. I can go visit the Golden Gate Bridge, but DCA is obviously more than just recreations of famous California landmarks. If fully developed, the park could have had a Gold Rush themed boat ride in the vain of Pirates of the Caribbean, or a Zorro stunt show, or a mine train through Grizzly Peak. There's a ton of potential for experiences in a CA themed park that cannot be had in the real California. Additionally, the "why have a fake Hollywood when the real Hollywood is half an hour away?" mentality fails to acknowledge that at DCA's Hollywood you don't have to worry about being stabbed by a homeless man. Creating a theme park entirely set in 20th century California before the state became third world is a great concept and I lament that they abandoned right after it began to find its footing. Why make Grizzly Peak if someone can just go to Yosemite? Well, because you can ride a river raft ride right after a haunted hotel drop ride right after a rollercoaster all in the same day in a safe and accessible environment. Also most people flying to California aren’t going to Yosemite, they re going to Los Angeles and San Francisco. The concept was fine. The execution was lacking.
