News Avatar Experience coming to Disneyland Resort

I can only hope! While I don't want DCA to be Disney's Islands of IP, GP certainly is tied to the original concept of the park rather than the concept-less hodgepodge and replacing it would help end the discussion on if a ride fit DCA's theme.
True but I just worry that the land will be a letdown like avengers campus.

True although I wouldn’t be surprised if they did put avatar in grizzly peak. But yes I really hope they give avatar a lot more space. The land itself looked like it was going to be pretty small. Almost like an avatar version of avengers campus
I doubt they are shifting Avatar's location. James Cameron has a lot of say creatively and he more then likely objected to Simba because of the PPH.

Doesn't look like this changes anything other than Monsters closing in 2027 now instead of 2026. Work still continues on Avatar in the backlot.

We also have a timeline now -

"Walt Disney Imagineering remains in the early stages of development on the Avatar project which is not expected to debut until 2028 or 2029."

Monsters, Inc. will remain open into 2027

Families visiting Disneyland Resort will have more time to ride Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! The Disney California Adventure attraction will now remain open into 2027 after previously being slated to close in early 2026 to make way for a new experience inspired by the “Avatar” films.
Mazloum said the revised timeline reflects a shift in construction sequencing that allows the resort to adjust work plans without shuttering the attraction as soon as originally intended.

While he did not detail what specifically changed, he confirmed the previously announced “Avatar” project will move forward as planned and will not be delayed by the updated closure date for Monsters, Inc.

Add to that what was said in the OC Register, and we're looking at most of the rest of the land like Stage 12 and 17 being put behind walls and demo'd here in the coming months.

And as mentioned we have potential timeline now too - " Walt Disney Imagineering remains in the early stages of development on the Avatar project which is not expected to debut until 2028 or 2029."

Avatar to debut in 2028 or 2029? No way. Where did you see that?
