News Old Key West Guest Photos to be Relocated to an Album and I'm disgruntled about it...

Hearing that the Old Key West guest photos are being taken down and put into a photo album. As one of the people in those photos, I'm not happy about this. It was an integral part of the experience of being in Olivia's and seeing the generations of families represented in those photos. This is very disgruntling.

EDIT: Laughing Place has the news.

You would think all of those smiling, happy photos would have served as a great advertisement for the DVC, but I guess if you eat there you're probably already part of it.

I always enjoyed looking at them but I can also see that it was time to retire that tradition. I am curious to see what changes are coming to Olivia’s. I think it could benefit from a light refresh, but I hope they remember the story of the restaurant and not give us another carousel coffee fiasco.

I'm sure they will spend plenty of money at Wayfair or IKEA and provide a unique decor, one that such a location deserves. Just look at the fantastic job they did across the walkway with the check-in area!

Yah they went too far with that one. If that was 0-100 they should have stopped at 60. Im convinced FAM doesn’t read any of the OGs or backstories of what they’re fixing. Does it look nice? Yes. Does it look Disney? Not really.

Facility Asset Mangement doesn’t make the design changes. That’s still handled by Walt Disney Imagineering but it’s not unusual for them to outsource the design work to an external interior design firm.

Didn’t get pictures of the dining area because it was full, but similar to what they did here, and to be honest it actually makes the space feel much nicer. What I think would have done though is keep a frame on a shelf somewhere and rotate through the pictures.

it looks like they went to home Goods and bought a lot of nautical crap randomly thrown on the walls....That iOS the knee-jerk reaction to the two photos posted... I need to see more....
I am assuming this is a "Before" picture... so new wall color and new random nautical junk on the walls? Neither version really seems to capture the feel of Key West... looks like a restaurant in a corporate branded hotel in Key West...
They could have actually gone down to Key West and purchased a lot of local art and made it feel a lot more authentic...

I mean that’s what this restaurant always looked like, so it blends in.

Repainted and added props to the walls, it looks like it’s always been there, the pictures were nice but when I saw the update yesterday I was quite pleased. Now if they could fix the lobby a bit to make it less 2015

The lobby is an unforgivable offense. The pictures here were part of the charm, and we know what Bob/Josh/Jeff think about such things. It doesn’t ruin dining there but it’s another minus in their on-going refurb ledger.
