MK Piston Peak and Villains Land Construction Thread

How are they going back to the drawing board for Villians land if they already have permits on where the buildings are going and all that?

Zelda definitely isn't minor, but I'm not sure how well it translates to a theme park land (or even an attraction). There's not really much that's visually distinct about it.

The scrapping the current plan is scary to me. How underwhelming must it have been? What’s good is they seem to be recognizing that.

Does Piston Peak need a relook as well?
From the sounds of it it was less of a underwhelming and more lets just plus it. Personally if true a view the move a lot like the 2010's fantasyland change of plans. Also if its true they're considering 24hr construction I think that would be a huge win

You know what's funny?
I'm going to level here:
Out of all of these, only Pokémon and Supercharged will be done by the time Villains opens.

Universal is too busy going slobby on the Dobby and their first build out of EU is going to be Potter.

Hell, Villains could even beat Pokémon the more they kick the can of closing Lost Continent. Mythos has reservations til mid-August right now.
They are required to deliver on Pokémon in Japan prior to taking it international.

Final was underwhelming.

Also. Scrapping doesn’t sound like plusing to me.
meh I persoanlly disagree. I liked what we got way more than the OG concept art. Plus I personally feel MK has the best fantasyland besides Paris, but that's just my opinion. And I only feel that way because like Paris our fantasyland has wide paths but yet still feels cosy and has a nice variety of things to do while feeling timeless

Yes
Permits can be re-done. Not a big deal. Remember they released detailed concept art for Fantasyland in 2010 before scrapping most of it for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

Not a big deal indeed. They've got a cleared and levels blank slate to work with. All the hydraulic remediations and wetland mitigation has occurred. So its even better than the former superfund site that EU was built on.

The start of the underwhelming Iger mini-lands? NFL isn’t the measuring stick you think it is.

Nightmare Before Christmas or Sleepy Hollow would work really well here.
Villains Land would be the perfect opportunity to revive the Sleepy Hollow dark ride. I remember Jim Hill and Len discussed how WDW almost got a Sleepy Hollow dark ride that had guests in Ichabod's POV (similar to the original version of Snow White's Adventures) during the park's development.

Some of these Universal projects are already dead.

There are at least 2 very reputable ones on this very site with long track records of proven, accurate information

Zelda is definitely currently one of the more minor Nintendo properties and it feels weird to give it a whole space in a brand new park. Luigi’s Mansion I’m hoping will be awesome. We have 0 confirmation of a land replacement for F&F, afaik it’s just a ride. Wicked might get something but I think at this point it’s a bit late for th craze so I don’t count on it. Simpsons, we have 0 idea about what’s going there, I’m hoping Pokemon for both my fiancées sake and Universals since it will help them a lot
…getting kinda “screamscapian” in here, ain’t it? 🤔

You know what else sits on a superfund site…if superfund existed at that time?
Hint: large tracks owned by one Irlo Bronson
