MK Villains Land Announced for Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom

But seriously, they've got some decent potential land names from existing IP:
  • "Isle of the Lost" is where villains live in The Descendants.
  • "The Shadow Realm" is a literal name in some IP (DuckTales, Aladdin) and general concept
  • "Forgotten Lands" is a land in the Dreamlight Valley video game
    • "Forbidden Land" as a variation might work
I could see any of those as a land-with-in-land concept, sort of like Storybook Circus, if they wanted to say it's all "Fantasyland" too. I think it's better marketing for them to say it's a whole new land though. The geography would be daunting as well.

I don't think they're going to use a name that invokes hell ("Hades", "The Underworld"), death ("The Graveyard"), or specific religious references ("The Devil's Triangle" from POTC). Doesn't fit with the MK.

Shadowlands was a name concept as well, from way back, if I remember right.

That's my fear too.. that it would be mostly screen based if it's that system.

I just want a ride with the Disney Villains like what Universal did with the Frankenstein ride. AA's everywhere. I don't even care if everyone yells that Disney just copied Universal with their villains ride.
Monsters unchained is seriously amazing but the Peter Pan ride at TDS is simply beautiful. It is a screen ride that is very well done and an improvement over Spider-Man at IOA.

Isle of the Lost has some very good story elements to it. The word "Isle" invokes a far away and isolated place that requires travel to get to. This will help with:

  • The land being in the back of the park.
  • Allow for some physical separation from the rest of the park - namely generic fantasyland and a national park.
    • This will be the first land not attached to the main hub, so an Isle separated from the rest of the park makes sense story wise.
    • It'll allow for some physical transition sets. I'm still wondering how they are going to pull off going from a national park to a scary villain area as you're walking from one place to another.

I’m taking my pick:

I would prefer something like... Forbidden Forest.
Yeah... Disney lost out on using that name when they pitched J.K. Rowling the incredible Dumbo-dore...

No wonder she went to Universal.

Plus there's the fact that unless they build an entrance by the Tangled Bathrooms, it won't be connected to Fantasyland.
