News Coco Boat Ride Coming to Disney California Adventure

So with the final Run Disney this weekend - do we think most work for all these new projects starts in earnest shortly after?
A bunch of prep work has already started backstage for Coco. Once the race finishes they’ll have full access to all areas for the project and will likely start full demo of the areas for all the projects in the coming weeks.

What prep work has been done?. I ran through over the weekend twice and the buildings showed no signs of moving as they were still fully occupied . One of the large building is storage for ODV including cold and freezer storage. I cant see them doing movement until that is relocated but to where? I will do a mock up of what each building was in the area from the building signage.

I have not seen a map like this before on this page. So here is what I got and the site still pretty much looked like this overview with equipment around just parked and storage materials just laying around not showing any sign of movement soon.

I never said those buildings were where the prep work was being done. There is work being done below ground behind Incredicoaster as well as work being done on Disneyland Dr, you should have seen fences up in all the areas that are currently having prep work both on the street and backstage, all of which is suspected to be prep work for Coco/DLForward given the work location.

However much of the projects work has probably been waiting until runDisney was finished this past weekend. So I fully expect both Coco and the EGW/Avatar projects to go into full swing here rather quickly now that that is done.

Also its not really hard to relocate ODV with cold/freezer storage. Heck they can throw up a temp location in Simba if needed in a matter of a couple days. Disney has shown they are willing to relocated all backstage stuff if needed, so that really isn't as big a deal as you're making it sound.

In the most recent fresh baked disney video Dave said he knows cast members who have said that nothing has been cleared out yet in the warehouses that will be demoed for coco. Hopefully they will move on that now.

The most interesting part of the video however was when Dave claimed he heard from an unverified source that some prep work will be taking place in Simba over the summer.

Yes once again I never said ANY of those building were having prep work done to them and never said they were being cleared out yet. ALL the prep work has been on the surrounding land in the area both on Disneyland Dr and backstage. This was even mentioned and seen in FB videos in recent weeks where he talks about all the same work.

This was the prep that I was talking about previously, this has been going on for a few weeks backstage, its now moved directly off of Disneyland Dr now that runDisney is done.

The new DCA border is coming into view.

That back corner of Disneyland Drive and Katella was always very wooded. It was excess space DCA never needed until now. It’s clear how much usable space Disney has to work with there. Especially if they also narrow the old team road.

I do wonder if the sidewalk will return in this new more narrow set up. Or if they'll push all the pedestrian traffic over to the sidewalks on the Pixar Place hotel side of Disneyland Drive.

It look like there will be pedestrian access. Keeping the original path going straight instead of making that awkward turn for Mickey head. But I can’t be too sure either.
