Kind of helps to use up-to-date imagery to prove your point. That way you don't look out of touch. Just saying. That was the point?

The problem with Lakeshore isn’t so much the look but rather the location. Literally in the middle of the Settlement at the Fort and taking up half the beach area. Had they slid it down the beach towards the Lodge even just a few hundred feet, I don’t think people would be as upset.I know no one wanted the Poly Tower, and it def has faults, but it isn’t way too off from the Aulani towers. Yes the Aulani towers have some nice extra theming to them but are also fairly common looking hotel towers. Lakeshore def looks rough now but it might come together at the end with some of the rustic embellishments here and there

Because it gave them the justification to finally do something with the River Country area. They didn’t want to shell out the money to tear it down and not do anything with the property. But, if they need to clear the area for a resort…What do you think was Disney's rationale putting LSL so close to Pioneer Hall?
In the case of PIT, the location (while unpopular) makes some sense. If you want firework views, and be near Poly, that was probably the best site.
In the case with Riviera, it feels like they started with the concept of the Skyliner and worked backwards towards the resort design.
How did they land on 2 feet from FTW? Any thoughts? Was there existing infrastructure that made sense?
I don't think trees are sufficient for this. They've literally taken the Wilderness out of Fort Wilderness by building an out-of-place Fortress.I don’t really see it as an eyesore, the worst spot is from pioneer hall. I would hope they come up with something to block it like trees.
It's the look too (exterior, at least). It isn't the look, it is the location.
Thank you for clearly not reading all of my post. My point was to say that for as much as it’s looking very rough at the moment, it may come together with the last bit of details at the very end. I’m waiting to hold out judgment until we see what the final product looks like.So hotel towers on a beach in Oahu are similar to a hotel tower around Seven Seas Lagoon? That's... something.
that is what everyone said about the PolyDay Inn tower.....Thank you for clearly not reading all of my post. I've seen renderings of what the final product will look like. You can wait but... it's not going to change what it ultimately looks like.Thank you for clearly not reading all of my post. I’m not saying anything is going to drastically change at the end, I simply know that once the final touches are on, it will have a different look than an in construction building which everyone is criticizing at the moment, and it might look somewhat decent in the end, I don’t know at all, but we’ll have to wait and seeI've seen renderings of what the final product will look like. It's still going to be 9-story buildings. The exterior is still going to be (fairly) compared with chain hotel exteriors. It will look nicer, but no one thinks what it looks like now is what it will look like when it opens. The interior is more the unknown than the exterior.I’m not saying anything is going to drastically change at the end, I simply know that once the final touches are on, it will have a different look than an in construction building which everyone is criticizing at the moment, and it might look somewhat decent in the end, I don’t know at all, but we’ll have to wait and see
It shouldn’t look anything like Fort Wideness or Wilderness Lodge. It should look like Lakeshore Lodge. It should have its own style and aesthetic and be judged on its own merits.I am sure the interior will have a classic Marriott corporate hotel vibe with some Disney art here and there and a mouse icon woven into the carpet.... It will not look anything like Fort Wilderness... it will not have the dramatic and appropriate interior of the Wilderness lodge.... it will look like the Marriott Lake Tahoe Resort... Modern and nice, but not thematic and not matching anything else...
