Rumor Where could a 5th Gate go at Disney World

Empty Fear Factor building MiB needs a overhaul, the ride is showing it’s age and the property just isn’t popular anymore.

Is that the huge empty building between MiB and Diagon Alley? When I was looking at a park map I had no idea what that was.

Those parking garages would be a nightmare to exit at park close!
Disneyland does a decent job, doubt it'll cause much of an issue.

The only true bottleneck that occurs from post-fireworks MK is at the Monorail/Ferry station. Traffic ends up relatively seamless due to that.

Finally, Epic absolutely needs to fast track another land because one additional ride in Potter is not going to fix their wait times issues, I’d say three at the minimum would help alleviate it
It has been rumored that Super Nintendo World expansion plot permits will be filed sometime in 2027.

If we were to go with Tommy's location in his article, I would reroute the Epcot loop of the monorail to also service the new park. Would make park hopping Epcot to the 5th so easy!

James Gorman, Disney’s Chairman, seems to be indicating that Disney has plans to add more gates to some of their existing resorts.
From your perch, James, what are the biggest issues? What are the biggest issues that Josh needs to focus on as he begins his tenure next month?

I think, lead the new team. Your first step is to demonstrate your leadership skills, to relate, as you will, to the 220,000-plus employees, the appropriate sort of brand, setting, culture markers, values statements. Leadership first, and values and strategy. And, you know, there are a lot of opportunities for him to pursue. I don’t want to prejudge the order he does it, but obviously the transformation that AI is having across the industry. Leveraging these incredible franchises that we have and building even more storytelling. New gates into some of the parks, building out the UAE park, which is an incredible initiative that Bob launched with Josh. So a lot for him to do, but right now, I think the world has been waiting for us to get this done and get it done cleanly, and it’s been done and it’s been done cleanly.

Not in Orlando, sweetie

But let’s bring that up every year and chase our tails anyway…like the last 25 🙄

Don’t neee a 5th gate , there is more than enough to do over 7 days at WDW, a 5th gate would provide diminishing returns since I would guess most visitors max out at that
Many would but it seems there are a lot of people who visit very frequently. Maybe they would look forward to something new.

Disney should think about making use of unused space and expansion pas for all other parks before they commit to expand a fifth gate.
Disneyland deserves a third park more so than a new park in Orlando.

The area around Wide World of Sports seems like a ripe area for one in the south end of the resort. I’m pretty sure I watched a YouTube video that suggested the area for it with it only taking a small section of the WWoS baseball fields in one corner beyond just using empty space years back
I've always wondered if Disney is getting what they want out of WWoS. Seems to me that area could be better utilized as a park or resort but that is just my uninformed opinion.

Soooo 1. A 5th is never happening. 2. If it did, I vote WWoS area assuming the land is suitable.

I think they get a ton of use from it. There are competitions etc. there all the time, and those people usually also visit the parks (and probably stay in Disney hotels too) so I'd be surprised if it wasn't a profit generator.

I could definitely be wrong though; that's just a guess on my part.

The cheer competitions they hold there are super big events. I rather they hold them there than in the parks like they used to do before they built that big arena there.

I would venture wide world has yielded more bang for the buck than almost anything they’ve built…

The land is suitable. In fact, the CFTOD 2045 plan designates the land adjacent to WWoS as a potential entertainment attractor in the future.

That’s why I think it makes the most sense for this exercise, you have space and you can just take the baseball fields in corner of ESPN if you needed a bit more space. They’d still have a dozen baseball diamonds without them. Heck you could even get it on the skyline from MGM (though it might be a bit too far)
