Matt Vogel makes a wonderful Uncle Deadly, but he's an awful Kermit and Big Bird. Aside from Gonzo and Miss Piggy, none of the characters sound right. Given Seth Rogan's involvement, I don't have high hopes for this.
Seth Rogen's love for old-school Muppets humor may actually help. His recent TMNT was good.

Watched this during the D23 Preview last night. I overall enjoyed it, some sketches are better then others but overall I’d say the charm is still there.

Hope it gets picked up.

It was fine. As a fan who started watching in the beginning of the 80s, I felt it was a mixed bag. Some issues:

It wasn't very funny. It had some chuckles here and there but a lot of the writing fell flat. I think a lot of that is Seth as he's not really funny. They really need Oz. Get him to help while he's still around.

The look and feel was off. It was extremely clean but that's been an issue for a long time. Everything doesn't need to be so bright and shiny. The Muppets themselves have more charm looking more worn out.

I could have done without the constant showing the audience. It's not necessary and was just off putting-ly fake.

They did a good job capturing the original format. I like that they threw some of puppets around instead of using cg or something else. They still have more work to do with making things more practical but it was an improvement. That was one issue I had with mayhem as well. There's potential with the show with the right people in charge. I'll very curious to see what the viewership numbers end up being.

You obviously have not seen The Studio then….. the best comedy I have seen in years…. It has been sweeping up every award it can and it’s deserving… and I am not the biggest fan he has… but the right material he can be ok…. Knocked up, Superbad, Platonic, the aforementioned The Studio

Agreed. This show is excellent. Catherine O'Hara will be greatly missed.

Haven't watched this new iteration of The Muppets Show but like what I'm hearing so far. Plan on watching this weekend.
