In the ABC interview with David Muir with Bob / Josh even Josh said he has a lot of weight on his shoulders and called Iger intimidating. Your post is spot on.Don't worry, Iger will be telling Josh what to do and Josh will do it.![]()

Proof is in the pudding that seems to be when Disney gets it more right than wrong. To me at least. Maybe then we will see creative growth again. I like some IP attractions but the original stuff just hits for longer to me. Maybe I am a Moron.

I tend to agree, what bothered me in the interview was Josh's lack of confidence,,,oh I'll just call Bob...that does not bode well for the new CEO to be his own man. Bob be gone already, you shoulnd't have to call him as a support line. Josh has been groomed for this for how long now, and yet it was like he was Bambi caught in the headlights. Im not against him at all but I just expected more of "his" vision plans, we got nothing. In that particular interview anyway.A bit dramatic, IMO.
I'm happy with the Josh pick with the Dana balance, considering the internal pool. Not sure if this has been called out in the 18 pages of drama, but the difference between Josh's decisions as head of DPEP versus Josh as CEO is the same as making decisions you make when you try to appeal to your manager - especially when a promo is in sight - versus when you actually get the promo. While his comments re: AI make me a bit queasy, Vaughn's comments about Josh being a champion of WDI give me some hope and without him having to appeal to Iger's IP mandate we may see some originality in the future.

He is a good guy and a very talented businessman.
As the years pass he will be judged by both Main Street and Wall Street.
Residents of Main Street seek to be entertained by compelling and creative content delivered through all the forms and channels Disney controls.
Residents of Wall Street want to see profits grow, driving the stock value higher.
It is reminiscent of Rumplestiltskin. Josh and his colleagues are tasked with spinning content straw into gold.
As an edited line from a Disney Cruise line show goes: “It has all happened before and it may happen again, but this time it will happen to Josh and his friends.”
There have been periods of dramatic growth for Disney before, but this time is different. The scale of the company is greater, competitors are stronger and the impact of technology is unprecedented.

I believe in Josh but not in the stock.
At the current scale of the company with the challenges noted, expecting significant growth to drive the stock price higher is a fairy tale.
I am certain that Josh will prove to an outstanding leader of the company. His impact may not ever receive the highest of accolades on Wall Street but I am quite certain that with his focus on creativity and quality content he will be happily welcomed on Main Street.
Why is growth the ultimate measure of success? Isn’t enough to keep a great brand, great.
With Josh in charge I am looking forward to watching more great movies, visiting the parks more and cancelling my Wall Street Journal subscription.

I agree; I could tell he was quite nervous as well. I know I would have been! I'm sure he will improve with TV interviews with time.The interview he just gave on abc news with Iger was not exactly great, he didn't exactly put his own spin or direction on anything, not that it was that much of an in depth interview,,,but I would have liked to have heard something about his personal vision like "what I would like to do moving ahead" and instead it was just a copy off what Iger was saying. He was very nervous.

Here's a dirty secret - it's not just theme parks that "journalists" are ignorant of. We just catch it because we are obsessed with them. But "journalism" these days is shoddy on every subject, in no small part because the race to be first prevents the race to be right, and they are all chasing those clicks. And nobody cares about the corrections or punishes the misinformation. There is a legal publication that covers lots of topics and cases, and the amount of half-truths and just plain wrong information that they publish is astounding. Add in the use of AI, and you really need to look critically at everything you read these days.It's amazing how bad mainstream journalism gets when it comes to theme parks. It's like they just don't bother doing any fact checking at all when it comes to the industry. Even from mainstream publications.

I definitely don’t think that was the case for sure - but Bob seemed to to be a control freak and clearly didn’t understand the parks.I think some believe his hands were tied due to Bog Iger's leadership, but now that he is in charge, things will be different.

Staying on for a year to advise is a good idea. Iger has institutional memory.It’s still Iger can’t seem to give up his influence by saying in the ABC interview the other night he will stay on as advisor until end of fiscal year. Life is too short. Play golf , or do whatever except be concerned about work. Who’s pulling the strings , Josh or Bob ??
