New comments from Josh D'Amaro:

The most important part of Disney will always be the people. I have had the pleasure of working with tens of thousands of Cast, Imagineers and employees over the years… and it is because of them and the millions of Disney fans around the world that I am humbled and honored for the opportunity to lead this extraordinary company.

Congratulations to Dana Walden for becoming the company’s first-ever President and Chief Creative Officer for The Walt Disney Company. I look forward to working more closely with you as we continue to cultivate and share our powerful stories to Disney fans around the world.

The remarkable foundation Bob Iger built over the last 20 years inspires all of us. As we look to Disney’s next era of innovation, creativity, and growth, I’m excited for the future and honored to stand alongside the best storytellers on earth.

First ever president and CCO? Frank Wells, Michael Ovitz and Bobby Iger have all been presidents and Disney’s first CCO was John Lassiter

Why can't anyone ever say "thanks, I appreciate the opportunity. Now, let's get to work."

All that is is schmaltzy PR nonsense with a lot of words that don't say anything.

I'm really confused by those people saying, "I think Josh will be good/great for the parks!!". Ummm... you do realize he's been the head of DPEP for years, right? And I think, the last time I checked, Disney's theme parks were all under the DPEP umbrella. If the statements were akin to, "I think he'll keep investing in and expanding the parks", you'd have an actual statement to discuss.

Its a new dual role that Disney hasn't had before, ie the others were singular roles.

Also Lassiter was CCO of Disney Animation (WDAS and Pixar) only, similar to how Feige is CCO of Marvel and Filoni for LFL, Dana will be CCO of the entire company which is a new role.

I think some believe his hands were tied due to Bog Iger's leadership, but now that he is in charge, things will be different. That he is a creative person who actually understands the parks and has a desire to deliver great things. Not saying I personally believe this, I am just saying where I think these thoughts are coming from.

I haven’t really commented, but I like Josh well enough, because I think things will be largely the same. I like the current direction of the company.

I’m not asking most people to agree with me, but I feel that better addresses the reality than he’s going to start doing things “better”.

No, we’re probably going to keep getting Millenial armchair imagineer projects, smaltzy D23 presentations and general stability from someone who is personable enough.

The ovation he'd get if he randomly announces the first original story attraction in 20 years at D23, man. Hopeful for better maintenance and improved focuses on the differences I know he deep down realizes is missing. All wishful thinking, and just hope for the best with him.

I don’t think that reaction would be what you think. It’s difficult to get the general public excited about something they know nothing about.

I suggest we just hear what Josh D'Amaro is going to do with the company before passing judgement.
This isn't an outsider coming into to "save" a company. It is someone handpicked by the team that has led the company to where they sit today. I hope I am wrong for how this is going to pan out...and maybe he will get me back into the parks one day.

The interview he just gave on abc news with Iger was not exactly great, he didn't exactly put his own spin or direction on anything, not that it was that much of an in depth interview,,,but I would have liked to have heard something about his personal vision like "what I would like to do moving ahead" and instead it was just a copy off what Iger was saying. He was very nervous.
