No, no, no. In this new situation, you're buying points for entrance to the parks, not for hotel accommodations! Don't have to worry about tickets!!

It's a Disney Parks Entrance Club!!

Ahhh, I see. It's perfect, and just what Walt always wanted! As long as the per-day point cost is demand-driven, variable, and induces much yield management.

If anyone has looked at recent photos of this construction, it's the perfect example of why you should never, ever, get excited about seeing steel beams get bolted together.

Question, do you feel there are a lack of non-DVC resorts available to guests?
Way too many DVC, those freeloaders are clogging up the parks all the time throwing their filthy Lightning Lane cash around and the snooty after hours events closing the parks to paying guests early.

Ban DVC and the park congestion problem is solved then Bob/Josh wouldn't have to build a new ride ever, nothing but day trippers who haven't done Small World 142 times in the last year and aren't jaded to the "Disney Magic"

Can someone forward this to the C Suite please? I seem to have lost their email

Typical DVC shenanigans.

Continue to have very mixed emotions about this … excited for what it brings to the table …. Location makes me so upset
Agreed - I don't have faith they can do enough to the outside of this generic giant boxy complex to save it from harming the Bay Lake esthetic (a la Poly Tower). I'm sure it will be a nice enough place to stay but the 'DIsney Difference' is long gone.

If I were in charge and was forced to have the hotel here…

Would go with a 1950s fishing lodge theme, think like a mid century modern version of Hilton Head Island. It would still have Disney nature inspired IP, make some story that the Disney artists would come stay at this lodge and be inspired by the natural beauty bla bla bla. Ground the story in the 1950s so it doesn’t look too modern and doesn’t clash with the story of Fort Wilderness. The concept art from reflections looked nice, but is going to age QUICK. Disney used to be so good at taking you to a different time and place. They have shown some places that they still know how to do that (contempo lobby, grand flo refurb, yacht club rooms) and then other places they can make something beautiful but it doesn’t feel *disney* (poly tower, riviera). This story would help balance that.

I like it - who knew imaginative ideas and designs were possible anymore? I originally wanted something as a nod to River Country, with that whimsical ol' fashioned swimming hole motif (which might be a cousin to Critter Country style), allowing for new creativity with water slides and the lazy river....but I like this as a more luxurious option, and the fact that it transports you to a time and place other than the latest lakeside Hyatt with character art on the walls.

I'm excited for this resort, the original concept art looks cool and it'll be fun to visit for restaurants & bars. I wonder why so many "lodges" - it's a better name than the original/long Reflections name but we already have Wilderness Lodge right across the lake and AK Lodge. Doesn't seem that creative.

That looks even more usual and pedestrian than what they are proposing... No fixing the location, and sadly there is no way to really make that modern Marriott Hotel look jive with it's neighbor Fort Wilderness...
I suspect at some point in the future, Fort Wilderness will get another full revamp, most of the camping sites will go away, more "Cabins" will be added and upgrades to the Motor home spots...at this point what is left of the charming "Wilderness" style will probably also be modernized and it will just be another Marriott hotel with camping on the grounds... Not sure I understand why they are continuing to remove all that was special about a WDW vacation...and make it like any hotel USA. Boo.

It will be a short visit - One table service restaurant on the lake, with a bar next to it. One quick serve inside the lodge itself. Unless I missed something in the plans, which is possible.

We used to stay on property -loved the theming but what they have done is made everything generic. Thus we stay off property and it's a whole lot cheaper

Pardon me for being SO late to the game here. I have been following the construction since it started. And I knew the project site abutted Clementine Beach. But it did not register with me that the project site takes up Clementine Beach all the way to over to dock the MK Launches use?!? So is Clementine beach 100% removed for this project? Or am I just misreading the aerial photos?

Nope. You aren’t misreading. It goes all the way to the dock. The other side of the beach is still there. But, yeah….you didn’t misread. 🥺
