Don’t they have all those cabanas from MK?But they had to get rid of bushes/shrubs to do this, right?
Where will the Florida residents pitch their tents to sleep for the week now?

Except they'd only provide shade for the feet of adults even with long shadows and they tend to move around a lot so not a great source of shade in general, even for other children. :/I agree this seating area location is more TSL than SWGE
Better than nothing on a hot summer day!
I mean... is it ideal? no... but people are acting like they added space heaters to the area haha.
I mean, the permanent furniture may also just include umbrellas, which would be more than sufficient for an area this size.Maybe/hopefully like the permanent furniture, that part just wasn't ready to put up yet and can be done some overnight.

I'm flying in on Saturday from Upstate NY! Looks like I'm just getting the same weather lolHey, those would be welcome this week!![]()
These are the themed tables from ronto roastersMaybe but unless they were some special themed umbrellas, I'd wonder why this area opened without them.
They were apparently willing to put generic wooden tables and seats out until whatever is supposed to be there permanently arrived (which good on them for making this space useful as soon as they could) so if they'd been planning on shade, why not some generic umbrellas, too?
Seems more like oversight than some sort of supply issue. We all know WDW has only one ladder but they have lots of unthemed umbrellas, after all.![]()
I mean, they could have hung some shade triangles, maybe in beige to match the SW color palate and called it a day.
City's do it in playgrounds. People do it in their back yard. It wouldn't need to be a million dollar install to provide real shade but they seem to be completely against shade in TSL.
I mean, they offer a themed version of it in the retail area of Galaxy's edge where people presumably deserve shade since they're spending money but if they didn't want to go all out for that and wanted to make the transition more subtle, Home Depot has options in a generic beige starting at just $18 a panel* with delivery to their area as early as Feb 2nd... If they can get someone to sign off on a store run, they could get 'em as early as Jan 30th by choosing the ship-to-store option:
I'm not just a complainer. I'm here to solve problems, too!
That themed shade cloth I alluded to:

*I joke about them being too cheap to provide shade but I'm sure that's not the actual issue. It seems more like whoever is designing spaces like this these days just has no connection to the lived experience of guests. Maybe/hopefully like the permanent furniture, that part just wasn't ready to put up yet and can be done some overnight.
Patience you must have, my young padawon. They are coming.
Probably something happening here, even if a meet and greet update
If your activation last four hours or more, please see a medical professional.I feel activated already. At 10 am on a Monday, no less. New record.

Yeah the setup of the stage and viewing location is very… “curious”, to say the least. VERY poorly planned to be more direct. The lack of shade issue in this land is pretty apparent, and the shade structures under construction for 3 years and finally opened at Woody's don't do a whole lot to help (they don't even cover the whole area!). They need to either make it an enclosed climate controlled QS, or put more abundant shade and trees. The land is unbearable 80% of the year.
It is clear the designers have no clue about the climate in Orlando. This is also evident with the new Epcot areas that have low amounts of shade. No one will stand in the baking sun with no shade on astroturf to watch a concert. Read the room. Add shade. They did finally put some on the cornhole and seating area, my guess being because probably no one was using it.
After Buzz comes back at MK, time for a Mania update/refurb?I feel activated already. At 10 am on a Monday, no less. New record.
It’s inexplicable that they don’t already have various overlays. It’s begging for Halloween and Christmas games. After Buzz comes back at MK, time for a Mania update/refurb?
I wish but it gets consistent and long waits throughout the yearIt’s inexplicable that they don’t already have various overlays. It’s begging for Halloween and Christmas games.
This would be an easy addition to the park. They should plan for new Toy Story games and a replacement show for B&tB when Monsters Inc opens. Add the new animation courtyard, Muppet RnRC, and villains show and the park would feel fresher….It’s inexplicable that they don’t already have various overlays.
