If I was a teacher and wanted to go somewhere warmer, I'd consider MarylandTeaching in Florida is not something that I would ever consider. For many reasons.
Hmm. You like kids and you like Disney. It seemed like a good match.Teaching in Florida is not something that I would ever consider. For many reasons.
Winner of best country song at this year's Grammy's.
The kids, Disney, and weather aren't the problem. Disney and weather would actually be a plus.Hmm. You like kids and you like Disney. It seemed like a good match.
When I got up this morning, it was 7degrees, air temp reading from the thermometer on my back window. No idea what was the wind chill. It warmed up.to 22, eventually.I was looking at Orlando's weather last night, and I had to laugh a little at the "extreme cold warning" with windchills between 14 and 22 degrees. Meanwhile, it took -40 degree windchills for us to get an extreme cold warning.
I totally get it, too. I just find a little humor in the situation when we've been waiting for it to "warm up" to the 20s.When I got up this morning, it was 7degrees, air temp reading from the thermometer on my back window. No idea what was the wind chill. It warmed up.to 22, eventually.
But if your normal is near 80, I can understand warnings for 20s.
Six more weeks!

Groundhog Day 2026: Punxsutawney Phil makes his prediction
Punxsutawney Phil has spoken: Six more weeks of winter await us.www.wgal.com

I understand your position completely. NC is a good central location. Raleigh is exactly 600 miles from Disney by car and our weather is what I call moderate. The past two weeks of weather staying in the 20's is an oddity. By next Wednesday it is supposed to be in the 60's which is a good daytime high average for us in the winter. The summer is warm and humid but nothing like Florida (and it is tough to find a non-air conditioned location) and the general attitude of the population is flexible, friendly and usually none confrontational in any way, at least in the major cities. Plus they are welcoming to transplanted northerners. Real Estate prices are stabilizing but still pretty high but a lot less than most areas of the US.The kids, Disney, and weather aren't the problem. Disney and weather would actually be a plus.
Remember this from 2 weeks ago? It never took place. Finally we will perform tomorrow.I set up the stage for Tuesday's 3 concerts that may or may not take place. Snow really is not my favorite thing! View attachment 904720

When I was born on October 20th, 1962 (yes, smack in the middle of the Cuban Missile Crisis), my Aunt/Godmother gave me my first Teddy Bear. She was one of my Mother’s 3 sisters. Unfortunately, the sweet lady passed several years ago.
My Mother kept it, and my lil’ sis borrowed it as a prop for her nursery when she was starting her family. She kept it safeafter that.
After we found out Megan was expecting Emmy, she brought it back to me so I could give it to Megan to use in their nursery…!!!
The below pic was taken by my lil’ sis in 2017.
Ironically, at this point, the poor bear looks like he may have actually survived a nuclear attack…!!!!!
