MK Cinderella Castle Set to Return to Classic Color Scheme

They’ve been quietly working on trim and we’ve barley noticed

I can see previously gold paint that is now silver there.

Plus that pink square where they will blast tomorrow morning for the new monorail station.

And, against all odds, a dude in shorts. Shorts. Maybe that’s why the lady with coffee looks so exasperated.

I'm surprised they are painting overnight in these temperatures. Tricky for the crew and paint often has fairly strict application temp guidelines.

There's no more money to be made in front of the train station. The current format allows and encourages guests to buy merchandise, food and photos along Main Street for 30 minutes prior to park open.

That, or as rope dropping became more common with larger crowds, they had to adjust for crowd control purposes.

Oh, there are definitely some changes but they said that the crane was gonna be out there from nine until 12 and my point was there was no Crane

Looking at this, I think the pink and gold combination was a mistake. Made the whole thing feel darker and heavy. The combination of pink stone and white creme trims here looks wonderful actually. Still happy for the new colors incoming.

Hope they keep some of the gold trim. It brings out the finer details of the castle and it would look nice against the white/gray.

if it were a properly applied gold leaf trim on the details, that might work here and there, but gold paint always looks cheap....and oxidizes...

Dams installed in the moats on both sides of the castle. Draining gonna start soon most likely.

Having seen most iterations of the castle over the decades (including the horrendous cake) I don't have a particular favorite. I've honestly loved seeing how versatile this castle can be and enjoy the variety.

What I most want to see is for the color scheme to align with the forced perspective. Particularly in the blue turrets. They should be more vibrant on the bottom, more muted on the top.

I'm sure I'll be content with this new version, but I'm actually expecting this to be the most contentious change since the abysmal cake. I think many will find this return to form quite dull. We'll see.

I'd actually prefer seeing the roofing painted as if the shingles were variegated. The shingles tend to look plastic and artificial, but at least in my mind's eye, varying between 3-5 shades would help them feel more real.

They have started painting turrets. They're working on the eastern side. Nothing major yet though.

I don't have pictures from today but, it looks like they have pumps in place to drain the moat.
