Anyone have the square footage for other TSRs on property (specifically, Be Our Guest, Woody's Roundup Rodeo, or Space 220)? As much as I want this to be a full HM resturant, I feel like the footprint is way too small when you also factor in necessary back of house needs. A lounge seems much more likely...

I think this one makes the most sense as a new train station. The larger footprint to our left is too close to the existing Frontierland train station and is likely an attraction with a tunnel or comparable (ala Tron) for the train to go through. This one is more to the rear of the park and would make for a new back entrance to the the land and to MK.

That makes sense.

Agreed and would love to see a new train station added. It would also be fine if this were a new show scene for the train (a la the Grand Canyon or Primeval World ones in DL)

Taking this outline at face value is somewhat disappointing to me.

The use of space does not seem optimized—I would have thought the dark ride could have been tucked further behind Haunted Mansion/Small World… could that building not have been placed there because of fireworks fallout? I thought (perhaps incorrectly) that indoor areas could remain open for fireworks with outdoor guest pathways the primary concern.

The lack of other buildings suggest there won’t be much of a village feel that might have made it comparable to a “dark Fantasyland” or even Galaxy’s Edge. I’m guessing (hoping) the coaster will take up a larger footprint than I had thought. I really want this land to feel like a “land” and not just two random rides thrown onto the back of the park.

I would assume that, due to the nature of the permit, it doesn't necessarily have to show every structure. It just has to include the ones relevant to the wastewater system. Someone can correct me on that if I'm wrong, though.

We definitely shouldn't interpret this as "everything between these structures will be a barren wasteland."

Similar to what others have said, I wouldn’t put much stock in the “feel” of a land based on some black boxes.

BlogMickey reports that Big Al’s, Westward Ho, the churro cart, and the boardwalk are rumored to go behind walls in the future as construction expands.
From what I’ve heard, Big Al’s and Westward Ho are history. I know Big Al’s hasn’t been selling CBJ merch in years but it’s still a part of the CBJ’s story and I’d hate to see it go, especially since iirc it’s been around for most of the parks history.

Any thoughts on where the coaster might be?

If we take it at face value that there is still a coaster that is also outdoors, the large facility on the upper left appears to be its indoor portion and it’s possible there would be an outdoor portion still winding through the land. None of that would be captured by this plan.

But the one piece of art we had was quite early and Disney could have certainly pivoted. This neither confirms nor denies that.

They may be using the area beind Small Work as backstage space, maybe CM parking and other support functions.

The prior majority belief that Villains had to be a 203X project continues to feel under-substantiated to me. Particularly if that value is anything more than 6 months into 2030.

Likewise, I still believe this investment cycle does not preclude them from opening two major things in the same calendar year.

I agree. I think new attractions every 9 months or so isn’t out of the realm of possibility.

My current guesses are:
Tropical Americas (2027 Q3-Q4)
Monsters Inc. (2028 Q2-Q4)
Piston Peak (2028 Q3-2029 Q1)
Villains Land (2029 Q1-Q4)

Tropical Americas is the most aggressive timeline of them all to me. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a holiday 2027 opening.

To me it makes sense for Piston Peak to open in advance of Villains, especially for marketing purposes. Galaxy’s Edge took just over three years, so based on that timeline, Villains should be open before 2030. An opening date of 2030 or later would mean Disney purposefully dragged their feet.

I wonder if the long building next to Big Thunder is a tunnel walkway to bring guests back to the Villains Land so they can't see or hear BTM and would create a sense of total separation. Once they get back there the land would open up and surround them like the caldera of a volcano.

I expect Tropical Americas (at least) to open in phases, like Galaxy's Edge and New Fantasyland.
