The section and rationale are set out above for anyone who cares to understand. It explains why this is not the case.So Amazon.com was just a hobby for it's first 5 years?![]()
So when do high school cheerleaders start getting 401Ks?An influencer needs the mentality of a.cheerleader. An undeterred loyalty and optimism in the belief that your contribution has a material impact on Disney.
Much like a high-school cheerleader in the stands crying after a loss where she believes her team would have won if only she had cheered harder.
Yes. If I want to be a Disney influencer, I might purchase an Annual Pass, eat at many of the restaurants, purchase Lightning Lanes, and throw in some nights at different resorts. I can then post about those things in the hopes of attracting a following and monetizing my content. I've incurred a few thousand dollars worth of business expenses that will reduce my taxable income - whether that income is generated from my content or from another job that is my primary source of income. What is the purpose of distinguishing between a hobby and a for profit activity? I'm assuming so that people cannot write off all kinds of purchases as business expenses after saying "Oh, I hoped to sell my creations"? Because in the reverse scenario (i.e., you make an unexpected profit from what was genuinely supposed to be a hobby - someone offers you $20,000 for a piece of pottery you made because they just love it that much) I can't imagine it would make any difference, right? You make money, you owe the taxes, hobby or no.
Your loss. We'll still be going, thanks.I know I certainly am not going to act as PR for WDW as it currently is. I would actually discourage people from going unless they have very young children and I would even have reservations about that.
Well there are some influencers who do tell it like it is and report things Disney probably dislikes seeing get out there. They are reporting honest opinions that aren't just fluff pieces. They don't hold back in fear of what Dis thinks of them. The consequences are that Dis doesn't hand out the freebies or gives them access to events/ attraction openings as they do to the strictly positive ones.I have folks tell me regularly elsewhere in my life that I should become one of these ‘Influencers’.
I certainly have plenty of knowledge about the Parks, always have something to say about them, and have plenty of opinions on matters.
Seems a given, eh?
But no…I could never play the ‘kiss Disney’s tush’ role.
Nope.
I would tell it like it is, no face to the camera, and give an honest opinion.
Considering some of the things today’s Disney is doing…Mickey would probably prefer I not go that route.
But oh….the fun to be had if I did….tee hee…..

See you there!Your loss. We'll still be going, thanks.
Vloggers…don’t influence this at all.Your loss. We'll still be going, thanks.
I don’t watch vloggers at all.Vloggers…don’t influence this at all.
I wasn't addressing the vlogging/influencer aspect. I was just addressing his comment that he would advise people against going to Disney.Vloggers…don’t influence this at all.
But this is my issue (be shocked I have oneI wasn't addressing the vlogging/influencer aspect. I was just addressing his comment that he would advise people against going to Disney.
The only Disney vlogger that I ever watch really is ResortTV1 and that is just to see the parks when I can't be there. Other than that, Disney vloggers are just really not a part of my world.
